Help in understanding Lycanthropes!

In the Lycanthropes As Characters section of the SRD, is says:


This is a bit unclear to me: Take for instance a Dwarf fighter 1, with lycanthropy as a 1 HD Baboon.

Would this dwarf have:

3 HD: +1 for Fighter class, +1 for Dwarven race, +1 for Baboon lycanthrope template

OR​

2 HD: +1 for Fighter class, +1 for Baboon lycanthrope template (dropping the 1 HD from race)​

Neither.

Dwarf Fighter 1 is ECL 1 (CL 1)
Baboon is a 1 HD animal
Lycanthrope is 2 or 3 depending on afflicted or natural.

1 (Dwarf Fighter) + 1 (Baboon) + 2 = Afflicted = ECL 4 CL 2 (1x Fighter + 1x Animal)

1 (Dwarf Fighter) + 1 (Baboon) + 3 = Natural = ECL 5 CL 2 (1x Fighter + 1x Animal)
