Help! Insider won't work and Wizards is useless...

Thank you! This was it exactly. When I called wizards I described this and they recognized it as a bug in their database. Customer support had it fixed within 5 minutes. :)

Even considering that my monday morning is more like late sunday evening in Seattle (Renton), they're solving these ever quicker.

Note that I didn't exactly "notice" that the refund process performed an unwarranted status update cfr. Insider access; I merely theorised it here, after my case was handled. Glad to have been of assistance (if any).

Hi. I have this same problem with DnD Insider. Payed for 3 month. Then buy 1 year subscription, but one week ago it has stop working. I just can't find the email adress where to contact the support. Obviously I can't call them over the ocean... (might cost me more than the subscription itself). So do they have some email or something...

In the confirmation mail there is no adress except the one that has following note: This e-mail message was sent from a notification-only # address that cannot accept incoming e-mail.

Can you please tell me, how can I contact the support? :.-(

Your best option is to go to the WotC CS site, and then choose the following options:

If that doesn't work because, for whatever reason, you can't get at the page, post in the thread here, and they will contact you.

Reload windows XP or Vista. Problem will be taken care of.

Seriously, have you scanned for adware/spyware? Are your virus definition up to date? Does your virus scanner work? Do you have all the most recent updates to your OS? If wizards says your subscription is OK, I would tend to go with that answer and start looking at software issues.

If you have doubt, log into your account from a known good computer. A buddy's system that he is using to access wizards. That would narrow down the problem a lot.

I have made a good living off problems like these and 90% of the time it something that went wrong with the software on the clients computer.

Aside from its a very common problem that a large number of people have had with upgrading a 1 or 3 month subscription to a yearly one, and seems to happen exactly when the original subscription should expire.

I had this exact same problem after an initial one month subscription expired and I then renewed with a three month one. It definitely wasn't something that could be resolved at the client side. I even tried with different computers.

WotC were pretty quick in responding to me and sorting it out, however. Particularly as it was on a weekend.

I still have a problem where I have to login twice sometimes. But my username and password are stored in Firefox and I just click the button a second time. It doesn't bother me because I'm in a good mood about how much I like their compendium.

Glad you got it sorted, though.

Yes...this happened again to me in February. The customer service people told me that this is a known issue with their database and that many customers have called with the same problem. On the plus side WotC is so familiar with the problem that it can be fixed after a 5 minute phone call. On the down side they have not been able to fix the problem at its source so we may end up having to call WotC customer service around the same time each month to "fix" our subscriptions.
