help: lack of information on creating new infusions

I have several spells I want to convert into infusions for an artificer. There seems to be some confusion about whether or not spells require a conversion into an infusion format. When a new infusion is learned how exactly do you add it to your list? My examples are Animate Object, animate weapon, rusting grasp and continual flame.

Also keep to the point on this topic. I really dont need personal opinions on whether or not the artificer is overpowered or not.
