older thread but still wonderful list!

I would also give Orcs some love as well if possible, what they have now is very functional don't get me wrong but it feels just that, functional. they are not as flashy as the other races but their kit is extremely practical for any class, an orc is that guy who get things done and doesn't brag about it hahaha.

I'm playing a caster Orc right now, and I am satisfied; whoever if we were to buff some races Orcs should get some love too and here are my suggestions as an Orc player:

1) we don't want to make them overpowered but still enhance them a little more, and we all agree that keeping the flavor is key, so why not give them back Powerful Build back? plain and simple, I don't understand why it was removed in the first place but maybe 120 ft of Darkvision was too strong with that?

2) if your table want the Goliaths to be the only member of big lad club, then something else beside powerful build would do, the question is what exactly?? well Orcs seem to have the niche of the durable, survivor and determined race in 2024, so why not play into that more? so my second suggestion is to give the Orcs an ability to remove detrimental effects: things like the Stun and Frightened condition.
Orcish Vigor: once per day as a bonus action, you can choose to end the stun, frightened, paralyzed or exhausted condition. sounds plenty Orc enough to me! :)

3) or the boring answer is to give them the old Half-Orc savage attack ability. change it to work on ranged weapon and spells, and change the name to Confidant Attack or something I dunno.

edit: to clarify they should only get one of the three suggestions, not all three.

I agree about orcs getting something but for a different reason.

They don't have much of an identity as rogues and monks.

I would like their endurance ability to have other uses.
