Help making a Tauran PC (Warcraft3 Race)

First Post
Hi guys,
A player in the game im running was asking me if it is possible to play a Tauren out of Warcraft 3 but to be honest i have very little knowledge of warcraft 3 and species etc. Have done a quick search on the net and havnt been able to find any conversions or stats etc. I was wondering if anyone has come across them?

We looked at the LA+2 Minataur in the MM but it doesnt fit the Tauren (big and dumb not wise like Taurens)

Any help would be great thanks guys!

There are Sword and Sorcery d20 Warcraft books out there. There is also a 3.5 version coming any day now.

The Tauran is LA +! and is fairly similar to a minotaur stat-wise.

One of ths Sword and Sorcery pdf product catalogs from the last year or so had the Tauren race in it. It was a preview of one of the Warcraft RPG products (I forget which). I'm certain there are copies still lurking about the web.

It's in the Warcraft official D&D book and it's a +1 LA race. From what I understand, the new book will be OGL and will probably be using something like Racial Levels from Arcana Evolved to simulate their powers.

A player in my game wanted to be a Tauren also. I wasn't interested in introducing a new race in my campaign so we used the Minotaur from the Dragonlance setting. The Minotaur from the MM is actually ECL +7 or +8, and more like a monster. The version from DL is only LA +1 I think, and works better as a PC race.

Actually, the original WarCraft books were 3.5 compatible. The new book really reflects an update in the Warcraft universe, not the D&D one.

Warcraft Tauren are LA +1, but the warcraft races are engineered to be a bit more powerful than their non-WarCraft counterparts. (For instance, Humans get +2 vs fear saves, +2 on Diplomacy, Gather Information, and Knowledge (nobility and royalty), and +1 on attacks vs. orcs in addition to the standard human traits)

Given that It's obsolete anyways, here are the stats for the WC-RPG Tauren:
+4 Str, +2 Con, -2 Dex
Large Size
speed 30
Tauren Charge: "In addition the normal benifits and hazards of a charge, this ability allows the tauren to make a single gore attack that deals 1d8 points of damage, plus 1 1/2 thimes his Strenght modifier. A tauren may also use a ready action to lower his head and set his horns against a charge, dealing the same damage as above if he scores a hit against the charging opponent."
Weapon Familiarity: tauren halberds and tauren totems are martial weapons for tauren.
Weapon Proficiency: Proficient with longspears and shortspears
+2 on Handle Animal and Survival. Class skills.
+1 on attacks with longspears an shortspears
Automatic Languages: Common and Taur-ahe.
Bonus Languages: Goblin, Low Common, Orc.
Favored Class: Fighter
LA: +1

The decision to Make tauren large, despite a listed hight under 8 feet and listed wieght under 500 lbs, has spawned a ridiculous amount of debate on SS&S's WarCraftRPG Forums. While I was hanging out there, there was at least one thread on the subject every few weeks. The Tauren is getting entirely Reworked for the World of Warcraft RPG (The aforementioned new addition).
