Help making this high Charisma Char work

First Post
Alrighty folks, here is my problem. For this campaign, I wanted to make a succubus/incubus using the rules in Savage Species. Its been brought to my attention that this might leave me underpowered. Any ideas to change that fact?

The campaign is starting at 6th lvl.

If you have a better idea for a high charisma char, feel free to point it out. I want this character to be funny to play/watch, so keep that in mind.

5th lv Succubus?
+8 Cha, 3D8 HD, Telepathy, Any humanoid polymorph, +2 Int, +2 Con, +2 Dex, +6 NA,
3/day: Doom, Suggestion, Darkness (any combat ones I see)

Suggestion is the only awesome one of the bunch. Suggestion if fail save can do alot (and at lv 5, it is gained with decent uses/day).

You won't suck at 5th, but as you level you might start gettig weaker.
At 6th, you get it at will (definately useful).

At 8th, you finally get Charm Monster (1/day).

You could just play a Psion (Telepath) with race with Cha boost.
1) star elf has no LA
2) Spellscales have no LA
3) Hellbred no LA
4) Lesser Asimar have no LA
5) Magic-Blooded template from Dragon #306: -2 Wis for +2 Cha

Haven't done Savage Species. When do you get the Teleport, tongues, etc.? Do you get the Tanar'ri traits/type? Dam Red, elect. immunity, etc.?

I had two friends playing an incubus and a succubus couple. The incubus went for grapple monster and looked for anything to increase his number of natural attacks (fanged mask (or was it fanged ring?), horned helmet, some other things, iirc) or his size/strength for grappling. He went into Warshaper and had some Barbarian for pounce (Lion Totem variant from C.Champion).

The succubus was more rogue and sorcerer oriented and maxed the hell out of her charisma. Her main "attack" was a wand of Whirling Blade, a level 2 spell from spell compendium to attack every creature in a 60 ft line with a slashing melee weapon. Except you use your charisma for attack and damage. She had a +12 charisma bonus (I think she was also a half vampire :) ), so a line attack with that was actually quite devastating.

Look for the +X to Y thread, there are a LOT of means of adding charisma to things. A marshal dip for charisma to all dex-based checks (which includes initiative) for yourself and all allies within 60 ft rocks, for example.

EDIT: I always liked Stunning Surge from Magic Item Compendium for high charisma characters. It's a +1 weapon property that can be used 1 + charisma modifier times per day as a swift action after you hit with a melee attack. The target must make a fort save or be stunned for 1 round. The save DC is 10 + 1/2 your level (HD) + charisma modifier.

I like it. The only problem I can see is the limit of 2 per day on the whirling blade, but that may turn out to be just fine. If not, I'll just get another!

Also, think you can help me find that +X to Y thread?

Finally, I love this site and all you people on it. Helping out newblets like me.

2/day? Don't get an Eternal Wand. Get an actual 50 charge wand.

The original thread, FUBAR'd by WotC's board reprogramming: Whoops! Browser Settings Incompatible

Slightly cleaner version, may need to zoom to read the small text, though: X Stat to Y Bonus
(notice how big the Charisma field is)

And, you're welcome. :)

EDIT: First link works, ignore the text.

"Lesser" Half-Giant -- Complete Psionic pg. 148
with the Spark (Magic-blooded) template -- Dragon Magazine 306, pg. 65
and the Primordial Giant template -- Secrets of Xendrik, pg. 81

LA +0
-4 str, -2 dex, +4 int, -2 wis, +6 cha
two favored classes of warlock and sorcerer
...among other traits

Unless your DM hand-waves it, you can't start dipping until after lvl 12. But once you can.

Marshal: many good auras to choose from, take whatever suits your build. I like the +cha mod to charge dmg, especially with a Crusader
Paladin 2 (UA has paladins for L/E, C/E, and C/G): +cha mod to saves.
Hexblade 2: +cha mod to saves vs spells & effects.
Hexblade 3: mettle

the +X / +Y threads mentioned above cover all this.
