Help me brainstorm some flexible income ideas...

Or you could start filming Amateur Adult Films in your basement.
I was going to say that too! :o :heh:

Actually, although I wouldn't say it seriously, there's really good money in that. A friend of mine recently bought a Land Rover, and he told me this guy who had been in buying one right before him. He was in his early twenties, and paid cash for a Range Rover. He even had his parents working for him (nobody wanted to ask in what capacity) and was apparently a self-made millionaire after just a few years of runing and stocking an amateur porn site that you had to pay to access.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. If you think of something that makes any sense, let us all know. I wouldn't mind a piece of flexible income action for months when cash flow is tighter than normal myself. With the Christmas season approaching, those months are looking to be November and December this year.

I wish they did it your way because I'd be able to charge for a lot more if I did editing on them!

It may be a difference in the laws... That's too bad. Another thing that they were beginning to do here in Illinois is burning the deps on DVD and setting it up so you can jump from spot to spot without rewinding tape.

I'm serious about the WAHM site. Don't post on the message board if you wish, but do look through the opportunities for some kind of work. I doubt the jobs are geared exclusively towards women.
I've seen a few good housewife sites, but Eric's Grandmother may not appreciate them...

It's not pirated. You download images and burn them. It's legit. You get a legit key and can register the software legally. You just don't pay for the packaging or shipping.

Actually, I think the FAQ's indicate you can't register the software. Microsoft's site indicates they do not allow their software to be old via download, and that site sells Microsoft's software via download. I'd be very skeptical of that site.

I was finally able to get there. It doesn't look fully legit to me, have you read the Terms or FAQ on the site?

FAQ said:
Why is the software so inexpensive?
We offer the software for downloading only, it means that you do not receive a fancy package, a printed manual and license that actually aggregate the largest part of the retail price. In this situation we are restricted in selling the products for private purposes only! You will not be able to get a technical support and different rebates from the manufacturer.
*emphasis mine

Terms said:
2. Basic Conditions of Purchasing at Downloadable Software online store

2.3. You cannot register the software with the manufacturer and updates are available not for all the products;
2.4. You do not receive printed license documentation;
2.5. You do not receive a copy of the software on a disk.
2.6. The Store will assist the Customer with downloading and installation issues. We will not provide technical support after the software product is downloaded and installed; neither will it be available from the manufacturer of the software product.
*emphasis mine

Also the domain name is registered in Latvia, possibly to avoid anti-piracy issues in the US. There also appear to be several reports of their versions of Windows not passing MS's "genuine software" checks.

Rel's Trebuchet Service
I'll chuck your garbage in any direction for $5
Our motto: "Any enemies within 1500 feet, WATCH OUT!"

I was thinking of starting a Trebuchet Mortuary Service. For a small fee, we can trebuchet your dearly departed's corpse: (1) into the ocean, (2) in the general direction of a grave, (3) into the sunset, or (4) towards your local Walmart.

Well, aside from getting a part time job, I don't have many suggestions. I was going to suggest donating blood, but you have diabetes, so that's right out. You might see about any clinical studies for people involving diabetes. Sometimes those pay. Raleigh is a hub for medical research, after all.

One thing you could consider is contacting the local TV stations about doing freelance work for them. You never know, it might pan out into something good. They might need freelance camera people, or might have work in the freelance video editing department if they are short-staffed.

Stringer work! Why didn't I think of that? I don't know how much they use that in real life, but it might be a good idea if your camera gear is up to snuff (or if you have a talent for getting to places to shoot video of fast-breaking news).
