Help me choose a class.

My friends and I are playing a Pathfinder/3.5 hybid game(basically we're using what's right and smart from Pathfinder, but the more expansive content from 3.5), and I'm horribly bored with my character. We're playing a quasi-steampunk game but there are 7 people in the game which means roles overlap, we're somewhere around 15th level(we may or may have hit 16th last week).

The game is mostly set in a city, and the world population is human(no elves, dwarves, hobbits, w/e, though since your traditional gothic elements of vampires and werewolves exist, we can build vampires/damphirs/werewolves if we want, though noone has). Combat is sparse but intense as we're all fairly decked out(new characters get approx 150k to spend on gear and such). We've already got a Cleric, a Sorcerer, a Rogue, a Paladin and a Monk. I have been running a Summoner but as I said, I got bored with it and how much time my turns took up with it tend to get on people's nerves. The party is neutral good to lawful good, so evil characters or evil classes are pretty much a no-go.

So, here's what I'm looking for: I want something that A: is going to play quickly, B: be fairly skillful, C: combat useful, and D: minimal to no multiclassing. I'm not looking to break a class or get a really OP build here. I just need to be sold on a class as something fun that fits the above categories, preferably that isn't a class, or essentially the same as a class already in play. Anything from 3.5 or Pathfinder works, though I'm not interested in using guns.

Any recommendations? I'm just feeling really uninspired as to what to make.

What specifically do you want to do?
I can say inquisitor, or ranger seems like a good fit for now. They both get 6 skill ranks per level, and can be good in combat.

As for classes with "pets" like summoners, druid, and rangers I would suggest always being ready, and having their stats ready. Rolling multiple D20's at once will also speed up your time.

The answer here is obvious.
Large party + skillful + decent combat = BARD
If don't fancy the traditional singing adventurer, (which in a party this size would be GREAT) try the Archeologist archetype.
The steampunk-esque setting you describe would fit Indiana Jones perfectly IMO, and that's the Archeologist.
A few thief abilities, loads of skill points. Great spells like Create Treasure Map, Dispel Magic, Dominate Person. Starting at 15 level puts you right in the sweet spot where Bards really become forces to reckon with.

... Or Inquisitor. Basically a Bard/Ranger on 'roids, the Inquisitor offers gobs of abilities, some spontaneous divine spellcasting, fairly competent in battle with simple weapons plus all bows plus favored weapon of their deity and medium armor, and the flavour of a steampunk Dhamphir monster hunter... om nom.

With the right set of feats and talents, this guy can literally be anything you want... except maybe an arcane caster. ;)

In addition to the sensible suggestions already made, I'll throw in a vote for the alchemist. Here's a quick run-down on why:
- Fits well in a steampunk setting.
- Good amount of skill points (4+Int, which is their casting stat) and versatile class skills (UMD, Perception, several Knowledges, Survival, etc).
- Very flexible in combat. The Grenadier archetype nets you a martial weapon proficiency and some useful in-combat abilities. Survivability can be high with discoveries like Spontaneous Healing and Preserve Organs. Can go range (bombs + a bow), melee (Feral Mutagen is the obvious choice here, though I once had a half-elf with a fauchard who was a stud; also, the Vivisectionist swaps bombs for sneak attack), switch-hitter, or controller (Stink Bomb, Frost Bomb, Confusion Bomb, etc), meaning you can specialize in any direction or shoot for versatility instead; your mutagen helps in any of these fields by boosting Dex or Str, not to mention a small Natural Armor boost.
- Can back-up heal if you want/need.
- Flexibility will allow you to avoid stepping on others' toes.

Do what you want, obviously, but the alchemist is a solid and versatile choice.

What do you want to do in combat? (pick one or two)
- ranged attacks
- melee attacks
- cast directly offensive spells (or similar)
- cast debuff spells
- cast buff spells
- cast restorative spells

Nail that down, and it'll be easier to figure out a class.

I thought about listing down a few of those, but I felt that thinking along those lines has colored my views to playing classes previously(I almost always play fighters/rogues/paladins).

We've already got a pretty solid healer so that role is really taken.

Overall I like to have a more offensive role in the game. I've been reading into the Inquisitor and Ranger and it's not bad, though I'm not sure if I want to deal with spell-casting. I think if I were gonna go caster I'd go full hilt, maybe make a second sorcerer(the current one's player doesn't mind).

So, offense of some sort, but also utility, and spellcasting is a sort of subjective thing that I have to check out the class to get an idea if I like it. I've been reading up on the Bard, Ranger and Inquisitor and I think these might be waht I'm shooting for, but I'm not certain.

Here are some thoughts for a character based on what you've told us so far:
- pure bard levels with the arcane duelist archetype
- ability priority: Str > Cha > Con > Dex > Int > Wis, with stat bumps to Str
- main equipment: full plate, heavy shield +5, and an arcane bonded melee weapon with enhancements up the wazoo
- feats: Imp Init, Toughness, Weapon Focus (arcane bonded weapon), TWF, ITWF, Imp Shield Bash, Shield Slam, Shield Master
- spells of note: Good Hope (stacks with inspire courage now!), Haste, Displacement

I've seen a build of a level 20 Half-Orc Bard as an Arcane Duelist, and it's pretty awesome, especially when you add in the Bard's buffs.
