Help me defend my goblin's lair

Make one of the goblins a druid.
SNA, SNA, Entangle and run away.

This one gets away, and come back for revenge for the next few weeks. Traps, hostile animals, entangles, poisoned mounts, disrupted rest to slow healing and prevent spell casting.

Hell, with max ranks in survival and hide the little bugger could make a career of it and level up faster than the pcs, as they get no XP from anything but his traps until they kill him.

Hmm....

Mission: disrupt the sleep of four level 3 adventurers without getting caught....= Xp for 4 cr 3 encounters / 1 goblin....+ bonus xp for killing their mounts....

Vrs

Mission: Kill the damned cr 3 goblin druid that keeps interrupting our sleep...= Xp for 1 cr 3 encounter (summoned animals don't count toward xp awards) / 4 adventures...+ the inconvienence of dead mounts

Just had a particularly evil idea. Let there be a small tunnel that the pc's might choose to climb down. The tunnel gradually slopes more and more down until at some point it becomes vertical. The tunnel doesn't actually go anywhere useful. When the pcs decide to turn around, have some goblins pour some boiling oil down the tunnel after them. Makes it too slippery to climb back and causes fire damage.

Really though, this sounds like it's pretty much a throwback to first ed, "oops you opened the wrong door, you are dead." So you might not want to use it.
