Please help!

I'm trying to figure out the name of this game. It was for the old 8-bit NES.

1. It was based on a "family".
2. There was a father, mother, boy, girl, and dog.
3. Each "family" member had special abilities.
4. The father was strong and could move blocks.
5. I think the father got power ups by getting icons of "gauntlets" or "fists".
6. The mother could jump long distances I think.
7. The boy was fast I think.

The above is what I can remember, but some of it may be a bit "incorrect". If any of this sounds familiar, please say something.

I've been wracking my brains trying to figure this out!

Bah, if I was home I could look at my copy, not there ATM though...

Any help would be appreciated! I was reminded of this game while speaking with a co-worker, who also has forgotten the name. If you can tell me more about the story, premise, whatever info you have, that would be appreciated too.

Thanks!

I believe the name of the game was "Legacy of the Wizard."

Yup, it certainly sounds like Legacy of the Wizard.

THere was a family that lived right outside a huge dungeon. Inside the dungeon, you could find or buy different items which would give characters different abilities. Some items could only be used certain characters. Each character had his/her own strengths and weaknesses. You had to find four crowns, each guarded bu a boss monster, then use the crowns to find a magic sword, which was used to kill the final boss, a dragon.

The family dog transformed into a monster in the dungeon, and so could go through it without getting attacked. However, he couldn't use most of the items in the game.

The father was the strongest, and had the ability to move blocks around with a glove. However, he had the worst jumping ability, and his attacks didn't have much range.

The mother was the strongest magic user, and could fly if she had a pair of wings. Her attacks weren't very strong, though.

The daughter had the best jumping ability. Don't remember anything else about her.

The son was sort of average, wasn't really a great character, but he was the only one who could beat the dragon.

I never once beat a single one of the bosses to that game. I'd always get lost. I did, however, discover how to bug the game into giving me 99 of every item. It was a password, I think. Me and my password cracking wasting of time...

I remember an NES game that if you replaces the 4th and/or fifth letter in the password with an M or N, you'd get golden or I think silver equipment. You go through a dungeon in side view.(that describes a lot of games, I know :p ) Don't remember the name though. Another one that was weird was Mendel Palace. 1 or 2 players, 3/4 view. The levels were rooms with tiles and you had to flip them into the right position to get the enimies, and they all had different powers. I HATED the swimmer guys! Anyone remember either of those?
