D&D 5E (2024) Help Me Fill Out a Treasure Hoard

In a hoard worthy of Tiamat? Do what one DM did to us and have there be expensive objects d'art consisting of golden stautes exhibiting mindflayer yaoi. Not much worth to it beyond melting it down unless you go through the trouble of finding a buyer that is actually interested which is an adventure unto itself.

A full 80-piece set of Heroes of Faerun dwarven-crafted figurines, still in their original packaging, scattered across several floors and tucked in amongst a whole literal hoard of other stuff. Worth an absolute fortune to the right collector, but only if they can gather up the full set.

I would include one fabulous item that's a giant pain in the butt to transport. Maybe a giant throne, including stairs and dais encased in inches of gold. It weighs thousands of pounds and it's a mystery how the cult got it down the corridors to begin with, but if the party can get it out, they could not only finance the revolution, they might be able to just crash the regime's economy as well.

For this kind of stuff, I go to Necromancer Games' The Mother of All Treasure Tables. It's sooo worth picking up.

It has hoards covering a wide range of treasure:

The hoard was made to draw Tiamat into the world. I think it is more interesting to see how the PCs employ that, rather than curate a bunch of items purpose built for the PCs and their quest.
  • Some of the Wyrmspeaker masks from Tyranny of Dragons or the full set (Mask of the Dragon Queen) in all its glory;
  • Lesser enchanted dragon masks;
  • Bejeweled Githyanki silver sword - a gift from Vlaakith CLVII;
  • Talisman of ultimate evil;
  • Tome detailing the ritual for the creation of dracoliches;
  • Dragonlance with the mark of the smithy guild;
  • Metallic dragon scales plucked from forgone victims;
  • Spell scroll - Force Burn (Iymrith);
  • Petrified canary (one of Bahamut's);
  • Necklace holding several pendants filled with a drop of giant blood (each a Strength or Growth potion from a different giant category);
  • Several writings of Sammaster;
  • A dracolich phylactery;
  • A list of chromatic dragon names that were loyal or disloyal to Tiamat;
  • Thick bound book detailing the process of the creation of draconians;
  • Psalms by the Church of Tiamat;
  • A map of Faerun crafted the hide of a fire giant, and always warm to the touch;
  • Hazirawn, Rezmir's weapon;
  • Insignia of Claws - page 94 of HotDQ;
  • Purple cloak worn by the highest ranking Cult of the Dragon;
  • Spear of Cold made from the tooth of a metallic dragon (silver);
  • Draakhorn - page 93 of RoT;
  • Collection of glass-encased dragonfang daggers;
  • Painting of Tiamat in all her splendor;
  • Diary of a high-stationed cultist;
  • Several pages of the Ritual of Summoning (Tiamat) written in Thay but requiring lots of diamond dust and souls;
  • Folded rug made of griffon hide, it size indicating half a dozen griffons had to be flayed for its creation;
  • Gem of Sight made from the eye of a metallic dragon, which when attuned to is unerving for its user as the eye seems "alive";
  • The key to a dimensional plane which houses several Damned Wretches (BG: DiA) upon which each Damn Wretch serves as a contract signed by persons in service to Tiamat. Some of these contracts could be used to compel descendants of those that entered into said contracts;
  • Perfume made from the tears of a pegasus;
  • Architectural plans of a temple known as the Fane of Tiamat;
  • Collection of poetry about the magnificence, strength and beauty of Tiamat written by one Varram the White;
  • Figurine of Wondrous Power - Vrock;
  • Item which houses a tortured spirit or spirits involved in the ancient summoning or against the dragon cult or both. If both a power-struggle exists
1-10 cultist/wyrmspeaker/thay wizard
11-20 faction agent/ancient hero/prisoner
In any event, the spirit/s may offer insight and lore, they make even seek a final peace.

I seem to recall one of the Hoard of Tiamat/Tyranny of Dragon books having a fabulous picture of Tiamat standing amid her hoard, but I forget where I saw it.

This, unfortunately, was the highest res I could find:

One thing I do remember about the picture is the gold statues - perhaps Figurines of Wondrous Power or Flesh to Gold figures that can become/summon Abishai or other dragon-worthy minions?

I mean,Tyranny of Dragons does actually detail a hoard collected by a cult to summon Tiamat, it is shiny and newly collected.
