The Draconomicon. Basically, if you have like +10 BAB and a pair of natural weapons, you get an iterative attack with one of them.

Awakened Axiomatic Forsaker Rust Monster of Legend? :p

That would:

A) Strike fear into your players.

B) Cause your players to pull a Jimmy Hoffa on you.

unfortunately, I'm not sure which. :D

Right, but the ruster only has a single attack with its antennae, so that's effectivelyn only one natural weapon. True, it does have 2 antennae, but counting them twice when they consitute only one attack is kind of like counting each digit on a monster's claw as a separate natural weapon.

Or does the Rapidstrike feat allow you to count the secondary bite as part of the prereq? I forget.

At any rate, give the ruster the Multi-headed Template, and we're in business. :)

A lot of excellent ideas to make ol' Rusty a truly hideous threat. Behind-the-curtain ideas, because you're basically throwing around numbers and planning tactical advantages and whatnot.

I'm curious about something else, though: How will you justify this monstrosity? I mean, how exactly did it come to be -- other than via the DM's intent to terrorize his players with something exotic?

Well, I'll have to settle on a design before I can come up with a backstory, but I imagine a lot of it will likely have to do with mommy rust monster doing a bad thing with daddy (insert monster's name here). ;)

Still, it's a valid question. For instance, why would a dragon want to mate with a monster that destroys metals? He certainly wouldn't want the kid getting near his own hoard. I'll have to give it some thought.

Ah, that makes great sense, because dragons are too weak for their CR as is. :uhoh:
