Help me find a video game!

Donkey Kong Country 3 looks to be available on SuperNES and GameBoyAdvance.

Get her a GBA :)

You can get her a pearl pink one for $80 (and she can play a lot more than 2 games)

Amazon link that's with virtually no research, I'm sure you can find cheaper if you look.

...or get him a blue one...must have misread your OP and thought it was a girl, sry.

Well emulator is a program that "fools your computer into thinking that it's some other gaming platform" so an amiga-emulator makes your PC work like amiga, and so on.

GBA = game boy advanced.

I'm not too sure about what ROM means in this case :confused: prolly this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROM_image meaning a single file containing the games data which the emulator then reads.

An emulator is a program that, as the name suggests, emulates the hardware of a given platform, allowing that platform's software to be run without the original hardware.

"ROM" stands for read only memory, and in emulator context, refers to a computer file conataining a copy of the software from a game cartridge.

Emulation itself is not illegal, but downloading the ROM files is considered piracy, on par with downloading MP3s or torrents or the like. If that sort of thing bothers you, then you probably won't want to bother with the emulation thing. Me, I've got like 2 gigs of the stuff. ;)

There is a built in emulator in the Wii, and you can digitally purchase various classic games for it, so that's one route you might consider. Plus, it comes with Wii Sports, which is great fun, and might even be a great way to get your kid to get some exercise if he's the sort to spend too much time sitting about. ;)

Also, the games you mentioned have been ported to the Gameboy Advance. The ports aren't perfectly accurate, but they work, and could serve as yet another avenue of acquiring them legally.
