Help me find the rules for Unholy Water...

scadgrad

First Post
I'm currently running Necromancer's Tomb of Abysthor & the Bad Guy Clerics have Unholy Water ???

1. Where are the rules for this stuff?

2. If it works like I think it does (ie simply does damage to summoned Good Guys) isn't it pretty worthless at low levels?

3. Is it just me or wouldn't a potion (in place of the 3 vials) of Cure Light or some such be more sensible?

Thanks in advance...

1. PH p. 190, under the Curse Water spell description.

2. Yes and maybe. Remember, summoned outsiders includes anything called by the Summon Monster spells-anything with the 'celestial' designation is included, so if the PC wizards/sorcerers/clerics like these spells, the unholy water may come in handy. Then again, those aren't really popular spells, so generally the stuff will be pretty useless.

3. Probably. If there are a lot of bad guys running around, that may be more potions than you want falling into the PC's hands, if they're good at taking enemies down before they get a chance to quaff. YMMV.
