Help me finish my Dragonwrought Kobold Wizard Sorcerer Ultimate Magus

I'm building a Kobold Ultimate Magus as a backup character, but I'm a bit stuck on choosing feats and spells.

The basic theme is a Dragonwrought Kobold raised away from his clan, trained as a wizard, his sorcerer side surfacing anyway, only to eventually be turned away by his clan because of his wizzardly ways.

I want to select 'dragon' type feats, but I'm not yet sure which ones (except for dragonwrought and dragon wings)

I will probably be starting at 8th lvl, so please keep that in mind in regard to the spell selection.

While I'll be the first to admit I'm not a CharOp expert, my Ultimate Magus does quite well. Went the specialist wizard route (divination, prohibited: evocation) and used my sorcerer spells to pick up the evocations and a few conjurations I would want to cast repeatedly.

Also took the Energy Substituion feat (great at getting around resistances, especially at +0 spell level) and the Sudden metamagic feats from Complete Arcane. Made me more versatile than a standard sorcerer or wizard. As far as metamgic useable with the class's ability, I prefer Twin/Repeat Spell (for use on your highest level spells) and Extend Spell (find myself hating not having prepped spells with this too often).

My primary character has died, and I really need to start building this guy.

I'll probably start somewhere around lvl 6.

It's going to be a really low-hp guy, so I need some advice on spells to take that make it harder for him to get damaged.

I'm thinking spells like Protection from Arrows, Resist Energy, Protection from Energy, Stoneskin.

Also, to avoid being hit, spells that increase AC and/or Saves.

If possible, spells (or items?) that give improved evasion, improved mettle, etc.

Any suggestions? (mainly on low-level spells, but higher alternatives are very welcome as well)

Draconic Power feat seems to be no-brainer as you already have Draconic Heritage as a bonus feat. Caster level is always important for a mage.

I'm now thinking: Draconic Power, Energy Substitution, Energy Admixture for metamagic feats.

Still mostly looking for good spells....
