The PCs felt the first impact of the worg tonight. Note that I have not designed it yet because the PCs did not directly encounter it, but one ability I gave it was a disconcerting howl that forced everyone to make a Wis save or gain a level of exhaustion from "fitful sleep" (they still gained the benefit of a long rest otherwise). Then in the middle of the night a pack of wolves attacked the party. It was a brutal and bloody assault and I thought I made an error in judgement (even though I was solidly in the "medium" XP budget) because multiple wolves rolled crits early on. but luckily once the PCs were all awake and standing, they were able to make short work of the wolves.
They entered a town and have heard tell of wolf demons in the forests and they think there may be some lycanthropy involved. It is a good start for making the worg monster a cool villain that actually concerns the PCs.
