Good lord, you guys are making this much more difficult than it is. Read what Xath wrote (emphasis added):
"Envision" is the command form of the verb -- it implies you are the one being commanded to envision the stereotype. This is explicitly stated in the second sentence -- "your vision".

What do you think of when you think of the (stereo)typical gamer? Check those off. Note, this does not ask, who have you gamed with, or what are your personal characteristics. It asks what your vision is of your idea of a typical gamer. That's it.

Thank you!

You would think that, right? But actually, that isn't right (which I happened to know based on reading her Part 1). Here's a relevant quote from this thread

I'm just asking what you think the most prevalant widely viewed stereotype of gamers is

Ok. You have an ingrained stereotype of what a gamer is. I am trying to get a feel for what "people" as a whole see in their stereotypes. You are one of those people. Please post your vision of the stereotype. I will then collate the data, and determine whether or not there is a "general" stereotype amongst "people."

So I want YOUR vision of a gamer. I apologize if it was written in a confusing manner before.

Oops! So you didn't want what I think the most prevalant widely viewed stereotype of gamers is :o I just skewed your data, then, but only slightly :heh:

When I read that question, I actually saw a gaming table with a couple people sitting around it:

1) Comic Book Guy. 40+ yo, overweight, poor hygeine, no sig other, and desperate fro female interaction

2) Krusty Burger waiter (name anyone?) : 14 yo pimply boy who just entered puberty, with raspy voice, go nowhere job, and no cares for girls.

I can honestly say that I know a few of both stereotypes and so it wont help much.

But in the near past, most of the people with whom I game do not fit that description at all. Most are cool, a little socially closed, but very open with friends. So- I never noticed any of these stereotypes in actuality.

Done, but I think two of my choices require some explanation.

I ticked off "Employment: Employed" and "Income: Hourly", but I was envisioning a full time high school or college student with perhaps a part time job.

I have followed your survey instructions except in areas where there were more than two possible answers per category. In those situations, I gave between 1 and (total - 1) answers.
