Sorry, nope... Tao means 'way'... The Japanese equivalent would be 'do'.

'Zen' is the Japanese pronunciation of the Mandarin word 'chán', meaning 'meditation'.

dao doesn't have an exact equivalent in english. it is difficult to translate. "Way" is probably the most common translation given but this misses some of the subtities of meaning.
