Perhaps the feral template from SS would play well into the theme.

So a feral, half-fiendish minatour, with blue skin, advanced to be the right CR...

Anslo, for something less templatey, there's the ghour demon from Monsters fo Faerun... Just swap out it's spell likes or special abilities for more appropriate succubus type ones, and add some special ability to up the CR by 1 so it's CR 13.If you want it to be CN, not CE then further adjust the spell likes (change detect/dispel good to law etc). And make it blue.

Just an idea.

The part about the winds on the plane of Pandemonium representing lust reminds me of Dante's Inferno. Is that where you got it from? If not, consider having the spirits of the lusty whipped about and tormented by the winds, howling with pain. Interestingly enough, in Dante's story, at the entrance of the circle of hell reserved for the lusty sits Minos, who judges the sinners and assigns them to the appropriate punishment. Minos is the king of Crete whose wife gave birth to the Minotaur.

I think there are a series of adventures that have been written over the last several issues of Dungeon that each are based off of one of the Seven Deadly Sins...

Lust was in issue 95 (the Vile issue). It's actually a side trek, and it's meant for much lower levels, but the idea of it could be scaled for higher levels.

Gluttony is in issue 98
Vanity - 93
Sloth - 91
Rage - 89
Envy and Greed have yet to be done.

Mmmmmm.....I totally love these ideas. :) Since my party is about LV 10, I can use a regular minotaur/succubus pair for "mook monsters" that they can slay (maybe fiendish...) and then use the ghour and Creamsteak's LUST (probably looking not a little bit like Minos from the Inferno) for the penultimate battle.

And of course, I'm going to use Dante's whirlwind-of-sinners idea. :) It's just too sweet not to. :) The party will be fighting on a bridge over the gorge, where the wind rushes about them. And, based on their performance in the adventure, they may risk getting swept up in the wind....

Okay, now that the monsters are good, what kind of *mental* challenges should there be? What are some dillemas where the choice is between lust and chastity, but things aren't so clear-cut, or are at least understandable? Since they're dealing with a celestial that fell to Lust, how do I make that fall believable, and have the PC's actually risk not saving the soul? :)

There's always the question: Who's side to take in a battle. The hot chick/guy or the evil looking crone. My players ( and my characters as well :D) always rescue the evil princess and slay the ugly-looking good guy. It'sd such a cliche that you can't resist it.

I don't have any ideas to top the minotaur/succubus combo, but I would like to request more info about your game, if its not too much trouble. You seem to have mentioned the Purgatorio, is this based on Dante? I am intrigued by this idea (I may steal it if you don't mind), so any more information would be appreciated.

Ooooooohhhhh.............that bad boy is SCARY! :) That's impressive....screw the ghour! You guys rock! :)

Though still pondering what story/mind-games to play on them...

As for the rest of the story, yeah, I'm borrowing heavily from Dante. The basic premise is that a celestial was imprisoned on the Material Plane that the PC's were on, after she fell from grace, as a punishment, to give her time to 'think about her crimes.' The PC's released her, and under her command took her back to Elysium to try to get her cast out of the heirarchy...she was still a celestial, so she couldn't become a fiend yet, but in her heart and soul and mind she was completely fiendish. Well, the Council of Angels that met didn't want to cast her out -- they still saw the potential for redemption in her. In the form of the PC's, specifically.

So now Out Heroes must lead her back to the seven others that fell with her, uncovering a bit of her grievous sin along the way. The Seven others, of course, each fell to one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

To go in order, I'm following Dante's Purgatorio,, but going in reverse. So they started in Eden (Elysium), are now going to the terrace of Lust (which goes with the punishment of the Lusty: being whipped around by icy winds), and next will go to Gluttony (which goes with the punishment of the Gluttonous, being immersed and devouring their own excriment). Eventually, ALL DONE! and then I have to think of what the original celestial did that was so horrid...:)

This serves as a segue between classic D&D and my next campaign setting, which is heavily influenced by the legends of monotheism...so Dante's fiends exist in servitude to Milton's Satan, circles are drawn by Kabbalists, and Buraqs shuttle people from city to city. I'm really lookin' forward to that bad boy...:)
