help needed - 3.5 campaign settings.

Okay, my friend is thinking of starting a D&D game, and we've played other d20 games, but not D&D, so could people please list the settings out there that are 3.5 (or have conversion documents) and are still currently being supported.
Also, if it is being published, can you only put in things with a firm release date.
I would also appreciate a mention of the publisher.
The ones I know of to date are:

Forgotten Realms (WotC)
Eberron (WotC)
Ravenloft (SSS)
Dragonlance (somebody)

I realise that many people have their own preferences, but if you have to say why you like something, please try and keep it down to a line or two. I'd rather discussion of relative merits went elsewhere...

I'd add Wilderlands to that list. The player's guide is already out and you can play a campaign with that book alone! It doesn't have prestige classes, but does have core classes and setting-based feats. Its a cool combination of just enough setting info to give you a 101 adventure ideas but still sparse enough that you could drop an adventure module from any company somewhere in the setting and make it stick easy.

Like to thank everyone, especially Rue, for their input. Yes SL can be make 3.5 compliant and with CC Revised, you get all the good monster needs right at your finger tips. (Also helps that other than for a short appendix, SLCS: Ghelspad has VERY little mechanics that need mentioning.)

If you're looking for a setting that will continue to get lots of support, then the three big ones are

Scarred Lands (though there are some serious rules problems with earlier titles in this line)
Kingdoms of Kalamar
Forgotten Realms

Other settings with with multiple products supporting them would be:

Freeport
Rokugan
Dragonstar
Oathbound
Midnight

Alternatively, Necromancer has the Wilderlands, which I love, but so far there is only one book. Others are scheduled, but I'm not convinced the pub dates are firm enough to meet your friend's needs at this time.

What about Lost City of Barakus? It's a mini setting, complete with town, NPCs and enough adventure material to take the PCs to 5th level. It's a Necromancer book, but released by Troll Lord. Clark Peterson and Bill Webb, the Necromancer guys, really understand the rules, and you can't go wrong with their products--ever.

For obvious reason I have to mention

Next Age Heroes

As for support, the first double adventure is going through final edit right now, and detailed writing is progressing on a region that borders the one most described in the Next Age Heroes setting.

It's a .pdf collection for $6, and even if you decide not to use it there's plenty of 3.5 material to mine for any setting

don't forget Ed Cha's stuff for Thumble or Oester or whatever it's called.

Do you mean the World of Whitethorn? :)

Thanks for the mention, Diaglo. Actually, the latest release in the series, The Village of Oester, was just released and is already a hot seller at RPG Shop!

Here's the announcement:

World of Whitethorn is really a "world-building through adventures" series that you can plug-n-play. Enjoy!
