Help needed with my near epic level campaign (My players, stay out!)

The dark side of love theme.

Make the environment tantalizing but sinister.

Each character is hears 'whispered, sweet nothings' in their ears.

The disembodied voices try to seduce and tempt. Play it up.

As they get nearer to their objective, the whispering becomes suggestions (as in the spell) with a increasingly difficult DC as the party proceeds deeper. The suggestions are to give themselves over to their base desires.

Suggestions are to perform self gratification on themselves, or to hit on other party members or near by demons, or to forcefully 'take' another individual, to make 'love' to some nearby beast or monster.

Getting a hard-on while in full plate armor due to a failed save could be problematic while amusing. And can take on a serious tone when as a side effect of the failed suggestion, the demonic environment cause a real or an illusionary resizing in the the individual's external sex organs. Male party members with penis three or four times their normal size.

Imagine a fighter tearing off his armor to perform self gratification, particularly at a very inopportune time (like combat).

Hopefully, I have not been too graphical or too over the top with this

For inspiration, you can rent 'Flesh Gordon' and its sequel. Its campy, corny, low-brow and definately a 'D' movie, but it deals with almost the exact subject matter you are looking for inspiration on. :D

It's a thin line BlackMoria but i'm trying to avoid doing sexually perverse things to the PCs but only let them witness it happening to others. Were I to do what you suggest it would be crossing that line...

Ah, I did cross the line....

Still, check out the 'Flesh Gordon' stuff. It is not too gamey and relative soft porn, but has some elements that might give you some inspiration.....

From Flesh Gordon
Worms that are shaped a penis and spit acid.

Constructs with large drill like simulated penis that whirl like a drill bit.

The orgasmatron....

The pasties (nipple covers) that shoot lightning bolts.

And more.....

On the other hand, you may just want to take a pass on this. I can't believe this movie has been feature on Bravo channel about a half dozen times. ;) :D

Blackmoria's suggestion spells gave me an idea. Going back to the images of their loves bit, perhaps the PCs could encounter such images and suggestions which encourage nasty behaviors in them with such images. Of course, if you've got any Lawful Good types, that's going to be VERY problematic for them if they fail any saves.

Alternatively, they could encounter a mirror (or a room full of them) which reflect the dark side of their own loves/desires. In the mirror(s), they witness images of themselves doing dreadful acts of perverse carnality. Or, more subtly, a cleric might see himself punishing sinners, and deriving pleasure from it. Or a good fighter-type, who finds satisfaction in killing evil creatures, might see himself killing orcs/demons/whatever, and then drinking their blood, mutilating their bodies, etc. Again, deriving great pleasure from it. (this would be great for one of those good Rangers with a vendetta backstory for their favored enemy, "Orcs killed my family/my love/my pet turtle, Pongo" etc)

If someone decides to smash a mirror in revulsion at its perverse images, there could be a consequence. Perhaps because the mirror reflects the darker parts of their own soul, smashing it does injury to themselves (or maybe temporary strength damage. After all, there's the old argument that it's our dark side that gives us strength, if you believe in that sort of thing). Or maybe it releases a shadow version of themself, as per the Shadow Twin spell in Relics and Rituals, only the shadow might have a tendency to talk to the character about his baser desires before attacking. Or, if you want to keep it simple, perhaps the mirror's power comes from the fact that it contains a minor demon and smashing it releases the demon, who promptly tries to run off and sound the alarm.

Just a couple more things to think about...

They're been featuring Flesh Gordon on the Bravo Channel?! WTF?!?!

I mean, I appreciate the value of bad movies now and again, but Geeeeeezzzz... No good can come of that...

Hmmm I love that idea Canis! Mirrors should be everywhere that reflect the darkest sides of each PC who looks inside them...

One PC already has problems looking in mirrors from a previous trauma she experienced. Perhaps I should have some kind of will save or be so fascinated and by what is seen that they have to watch and experience satisfaction of what they see.

By the way, the one PC who refuses to look in mirrors (a sorceress) is extremely beautiful CR26 I believe; maybe it's even higher due to some CHR bumping items. She was killed by a Balor's firestorm a while back and the cleric cast revanance on her, she saw her reflection in a mirror while revananced and when she was resurrected she remembered what she had seen and every time she looks in a mirror all she can see is her disgusting charred face, even though she is more beautiful than most.

I think I should have something special for her here in this place that adores physical beauty. (She is played by the one girl in my group)

Her history is kind of sad as when she first started discovering her talent for magic she badly and permanently crippled her brother in a magical accident. Perhaps what she sees is her getting tired of taking care of her cripple brother and strangling him to death so she no longer has to feel the guilt of his miserable life. (Or something like that)

BigFreekinGoblinoid I think you are right, and I hope I haven't offended anyone here on ENworld. I'm walking a thin line with this part of my campaign but so far it has worked out and had the desired effect, though my friends are worried about my ability to come up with some of this stuff as it's quite disturbing to them. They are enjoying it though!

why not start having the PC's start mutating while they are in there. Start having parts of them that they feel are vain and proud of grow or change to reflect it here.

Such as someone's arms, they think they are strong, and they admire cats. Their arms grow stripes like tigers, start growing whiskers, etc. Subtle things like this will flip them out.

Exploit their pride, their love, their desires, their vanity. Root out each PC's weakness and twist it.

The mirrors are a great aspect to start with, then before they meet the final minion from here their bodies writhe and change with the musky odors in the air and causes them to go through these changes all over again...

Who knows you might have the PC's rutting on the floor or with statues, who knows. Remeber this is a mindf**k the more you get into their heads the more they are going to know true terror.
