HELP!!! Our home has been invaded by ants!

Something that works for us here in Texas (home of the killer fire ants and gigantic carpenter ants) is molasses. If you can find their nest, pour molasses on it. For whatever reason, ants hate it, so they pick up and they move thier mound to a new spot. If you do this enough times, they'll be your neighbor's problem, not yours. Inside the house, we've had good luck with rubbing orange oil on their trails (we don't bother buying the oil, we just eat an orange and rub the peel on the trail).

I'm glad you found something that worked for you. I should probably look into that Terro stuff.

I bought a $2 tube of spackle and spackled over the hole they were getting in. Haven't seen any since.

I also caulked over the spaces between the floor and baseboards, and where the flooring was not cleanly cut and installed. Don't get me started on crooked contractors.
