Another TV, DVR, or TVO might all be expenses that can't be justified (they are with me).

It makes more sense to work out a comprise, it helps communications in the long run.

Get another TV.

Let her watch Heroes/watch Heroes with her and miss an hour of the game. I'm a big football fan but it's just MNF. No big deal.
I gotta go with that answer. Trying to techsupport a problem like that can be a doozy. It could be your computer, your internet connection, the site itself. I don't know your financial situation but maybe a cheap old 19 inch tv could solve your problems. Tivo has been a lifesaver in my house and it cost us 300 bucks for 3 years (equipment included).

Recently thursday nights have been screwing us because there are 3 things (one more than tivo) that we like to watch. So we ended up buying an hdtv tuner for the computer (55 bucks) that acts as a mini tivo. This too may solve your problems. It allows you to receive televisoins reception through a coaxal cable into your computer and record to your hard drive. Another cheap solution could be looking for a DVD recorder. I've seen them at the oneaday sites for as little as 50 or 60 bucks.

If you can't get none of these, I"d recommend missing the 2nd and 3rd quarter of the game or watching whats going on between commercials. I have learned that the woman always wins and her happiness means your happiness. If she is not happy, you will not be happy. I love football but i hate watching recorded games. so what i'll do is flip between commercials, watch the first quarter and last quarter in its entirity (usually the most exciting parts of a game) and follow the box score at nfl.com during the game. They even show highlight films instantly of big plays.

You have friends, don't you? The woman gets first dibs on the home TV. You go over to a buddy's house to watch football. The woman should always win.

Not really (the friends part). At least close buy. We bought a house close to my wife's work, but about 30 min from mine & most of our friends (housing prices were about $25,000 dollars cheaper here). I don't feel like 30 minutes to watch the game, 30 min to drive back (Plus that'd be when a lot of drunks start heading home).

Plus, we just bought a 42" HD Flatscreen. That beats any of our friends by 20". We are now looking at various HD & DVR's (Have Dish Network, so that's going to be what we use).

Plus, she controls the TV Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat. ( I have Sun; Wed Game night). She realizes that 1 out of 7 vs 4 of 7, means I get MNF. She just wants to watch Heroes & missing an episode throws it all out of wack.

In today's age of "Let's show this 500 time a week" its amazing that shows people actually watch run once, then go off to DVD land in a year or two.

But, G4 is picling up where Sci-Fi left off, re-airing episodes later in the week.

So my marriage is safe due to the Executives at G4 paying the NBC Man's Price.

Or else I just get to stop begging & whimpering piteously, until she caves.

I think (though I'm not sure) G4 is playing the FIRST season of Heroes, not the current one.

I have a Monday night class, so have been missing Heroes as well. I had the same problem viewing Heroes over the web through Firefox. However it works just fine with IE 6. What browser are you using?

We do have a 2nd TV (and a 3rd, plus the new Big Screen has Picture in Picture). The problem is we only have 1 Dish Network Receiver thus we can only watch 1 Channel at a time. There are other reasons, but we are only able to have 1 receiver (trust me, we've been through this a few times, 1 channel is our current limit).

We could watch Over-the-Air Channels via the antenna, but we live to far away to get anything more than every game looking like it was played in a blizzard.

The local (small, rural monopoly) is crap. Literally, the best we could have done is $120/Month for 80 Channels. With Dish we get 250 for about $70.

We've upgraded the TV & I have an old Dolby Surround from my old Desktop for sound. We are now looking into expanded HD Options, but it's going to be a while (Christmas probablly).

We'll check out G4 on Sat & see what they are showing.

PS. Yes, I am trying to see the full episodes, or the re-caps, or the extras, or any of their Flash Video, it all has the same palyback problem. I can't pause it like Apple Trailers to let it 'build up' so it doesn't pause. Either their Demand is too high, or my pull is too low (I'm guessing a little of both)
