Help! Searching for a free pdf adventure but can't find it

I'm trying to find a free pdf adventure I downloaded a year or so ago but have lost.

I can't quite remember the title (I think "Winter" was in the title).

Basically, it was a 3E adventure taken from Dungeon magazine and uploaded somewhere as a free pdf.

The adventure was set in a harsh winter and the plot revolved around the PCs having to find someone who'd gone missing (an ambassador I think). The PCs cross paths with a tribe of orcs, however, and must undergo the Walk of the Dead to gain their trust. I think it turns out that the orcs are the ones blamed for the kiddnapping too but they're really not the culprits.

The adventure featured the border town of Cador.

Does anyone know the adventure I'm talking about and where I can download it if possible.

Yup, it is called "The Dead of Winter" by Keith Francis Strohm. I downloaded it years ago from the WotC site, I believe. It doesn't seem to be there anymore, however.

After some googling I found a review of the adventure explaining why the title sounded so familiar. It was included on the CD that came with the 3.0 PHB.

(I found a pdf of it with Google but the site required a password to access the file. I could read the text through google's html cache, but that didn't have any art/maps and I think part of it was missing.)

Could I have missed that all these years? I just happened to have found the old cd a few days ago and sure enough there is an adventure as well as some videos for old games.

Now that you mention it, maybe I did get it off the CD that came with the 3E PHB . . .

I still have that CD somewhere so I'll try and find it.
