Help twink a Goliath smasher

Goliath stats for the uninitiated(basically):

+4 Strength, -2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution
Goliath base land speed is 30 feet.
Medium
Monstrous Humanoid
Powerful Build
Mountain Movement: A goliath can engage in accelerated climbing (climbing half his speed as a move action) without taking the -5 penalty on the Climb check.
Acclimated: Goliaths are automatically acclimated to life at high altitudes. They don't take the penalties for altitude.
+2 bonus on Sense Motive checks
Favored Class: Barbarian.
Level Adjustment: +1.

I like them for the exact purpose as the OP: they are good at doing a lot of damage.

You should get whirlwind attack feat. Attack multiple people with one attack?! Plus cleave? Plus 4d6? Now thats damage.

But just how often are enough people going to pile in to make the feat worth it that aren't mooks you can pretty much ignore anyways?

Well to be honest, if you want to play a smasher, stay away from most pure Fighter types. Here is one that I made up for an extreme combat control type character:

Half-Ogre Cleric x (or any number of full casting d8 HD Cleric PrCs out there)

Domains: Planning, Undeath (the one that gives you Extra Turning) (or one of the Domains that will qualify you for a PrC)

feats: Exotic Weapon Proff (Spiked Chain), Persistent Spell, Divine Metamagic: Persistent, 4 free feats (Combat Expertise, Improved Disarm, Improved Trip, Combat Reflexes, Quicken Spell?)

You persist Divine Power and cast Righteous Might.

You end up with Huge size and a 30ft reach with a 3d6 weapon.

Enjoy.

If you're going goliath, and you want some stylish HULK SMASH type stuff going on, go fighter 6.

You need to grab the knockback feat, and the alternative fighter class feature "dungeon crasher" from the dungeonscape book. Probably worth using a spiked chain for the crazy reach with a large version of it. Not like you won't have enough feats.

Sooooo, if you're in a dungeon, (or really anywhere with a solid surface, maybe trees in a forest) get up to your enemy, and proceed to slam the poor guy into the dungeon walls repeatedly. Each time they get slammed into a wall from a bullrush (due to knockback feat), you get to add 8d6 + 3 x str. Not only is it cinematic, it's brutal.

For future levels, it's probably worth grabbing barbarian 1 and getting the alternative barbarian pounce from complete champion, and maybe crusader to get thicket of blades stance to take advantage of your ridiculous reach.
