This is another one we actually came up with tonight too (funny how great nerdly minds think alike?). My girlfriend said that he will most likely turn a sort of bluish-grey as he grows up, and Ash fulfilled her desire for a short, natural sounding name and my need for something geeky (although she's as big an Evil Dead/AoD fan as me). We may just end up going with Ash.

Cool, and the best thing is that if you start quoting Ash's lines with Mister Ed's voice it only gets cooler... ;)

That's a good one. Or if you go with something along the lines of Ranger Wickett's suggestion, Lith is elvish for "ash". Or Rochon - that's elvish for horse (Rohan = Land of Horses; Rohirrim = Horse People). The "ch" sound is like the H or CH in Hanukkah/Chanukkah. ;)

I had a friend who named her horse Navarre, after Rutger Hauer's character in Ladyhawke. :)
