Help w/future assassin levels..

Ok, after a lot of going back and forth my DM has LOCKED my character, I can no longer go back and change anything I have already done, and I cannot add more classes. This is my character sheet as it stands and I ask you all to help me decide what should be done in the FUTURE. This game is going to be a LITTLE twinkish, but not as bad as some other games. Most of my info comes from srd20, but a couple from other sources, almost any source can be use for later levels..(please reference)

My char:rog3/mon2/assasin4/shadowdancer1
moon elf:
str:13 ac: 25
dex:22 Fort: 7
con:14 reflex: 18
int:18 will: 9
wis:18 BAB: 6
cha:15

bluff:14 knowledge nature: 5
concentration: 10 listen:19
craft alchemy(drugs):14 move silently:19
disguise: 8 perform dance: 7
escape artist: 16 tumble:19
gather information:10 UMD: 14
hide:19 use rope: 12

feats: unarmed strike,shortbow/handcrossbow, armor prof. light, dodge, combat reflexes, weapon finesse, spring attack, mobility

Special abilities: sneak atk 4d6, death attack, trap sense +1, imp. stunning fist, flurry of blows, evasion, imp. evasion, monk ac bonus, poison use, +2 save vs poison, uncanny dodge, HiPS

spells: lvl 1: true strike, obsuring mist, sleep, addiction
lvl 2: pass without a trace, phantom foe, alter self

items: +2 clothes +5 hide masterwork silk shirt
boots of +2 dex, +5 move silently
ki focus/flaming longsword
ring of resistance +3
am +2 nat ac
haversack (magic)
wand of luminous armor(50)
wand of true strike (50)

While the characters begin in faerun, most of the campaign will take place in ravenloft.
Sorry for all the info. Basically I plan to hips, atk/SA, and I'll eventually have greater invisibility + flurry/sneak blah blah.
For spells i'm looking at greater invis, I also plan on taking sadism from Book of Vile darkness, when I can. (after a sneak+flurry i'm rocking it)possibly wraith strike from spell compend.

*note* I understand that ki strike does not change the weapon size and I wouldn't normally qualify for finesse. Because it is already locked the DM is allowing it for now, and will eventually have me find a 'suitable' kama replacement.

DM will NOT allow me to take penetrating strike.
Some of the feats I'm considering are:
FOLLOW UP STRIKE
BAB8, STR13,PIERCE ARMOR
if successful on a melee atk roll by more than the amount needed, you gain half the difference (round up) on next attack roll, against same opponent same round. if no more atk's left, bonus lost.

Possibly Hamstring (CW).
We're allowed to use quite a variety of source material. I know there has to be some great feats I can exploit that I'm over looking...

Thanks in advanced

so your DM doesnt want you to Sneak attack undead?

I would take another level of Assassin for the improved uncanny dodge and another Shadow Dancer for dark vision, then get into Earth Dreamer from Races of Stone (take Earth Sense feat) Take this PRC for all 5 lvls and you will be spring attacking from the ground w/ earth glide. Since you have spring attack you may want to synergies more with that and get bounding assault at 15th lvl from PHB II.

for the undead in ravenloft
Get one of the weapon augment crystals from Magic Item Compendium that allows you to sneak attack undead. You could also go Divine Crusader (CW) then Skullclan Hunter (i think that is what it is called in Miniature handbook) they can sneak undead.

Right now your biggest problem that I can see is your lousy BAB. +6 at 10th level is nothing to brag about. With your sword you probably have a +13 total attack bonus.

I'd suggest you consider heading into the Duelist PrC. You can already qualify with your current feats and skills. At higher levels you could be adding both your Wisdom and your Intelligence bonus to AC when unarmored. Considering that you have an 18 in each, that's pretty sweet. Yes you lose out on Sneak Attack and Spells, but in return you pick up a much-needed D10 hitdice and a better AC.

Um guys, I think his DM said he cannot add new classes. So he is stuck with what he has. Which means he can advance rogue, assassin or shadowdancer (once you leave monk, you can never go back, right?).

Staggering Strike is a good feat to get (Complete Adventurer).

Other than that, get the Assassin's Dagger, Int-boost items, and go for assassin levels to max out Death Attack DC.

That's not how I interpret what he said. I thought he meant that he couldn't go back and retcon anything his character's build up to this point, not that he can't multi-class further in the future.

Welcome to the boards!

Well, here are your options:
You can't advance your Monk levels because of the multiclassing rule, so they stay where they are.

Advancing Assassin or Rogue levels will essentially be the same; Assassin gets you a few spells and bonuses versus poison, Rogue gets you special abilities eventually and bonuses versus traps. They both advance your Sneak Attack.

Advancing Shadowdancer levels will give you a Shadow companion and the ability to dart about from shadow to shadow.

Essentially they're all the same thing; the only question you have to ask is, "What flavor of sneaky do I want?" I'd finish out Assassin to get the save against my Death Attack as high as possible; I'd probably finish my 20 levels with 4 levels of Rogue simply to continue to increase my Sneak Attack dice.

As far as feats go, I always give my NPC Assassins Ability Focus: Death Attack, which increases the Fort save DC by 2.

------

That being said, you're in Ravenloft. You need a way to hurt the Undead or you've lost the use of most of your abilities. If you can't get your hands on an anti-undead tactic, then go Shadowdancer for the rest of your career and be happy as combat support who survives.

I agree. Also consider Ability Focus (death) attack (MM).

If you cant add any more classes, then I agree with the above.

Keep going assassin... get an assassin dagger and add the undead bane weapon augment crystal. Then finish out with shadow dancer... you cant take anymore rogue levels because of XP hits.

You might want to look at Complete Champion alternative class feature for rogues.

You will all HATE me lol

Well, due to some friends changing their classes, I decided with the new dex based classes and lack of spellpower I would change my class.

My newest char looks like this (unfinished right now): starting at lvl 10

spellthief 1/wizard 4/assassin1/ultimate magus 8/arcane trickster

At first level I'm taking able learner, and point blank shot.

At 6th I'm going to be taking practiced spellcaster (assassin), so I can get m wizard up to 9th level spells.

Now, I'm considering whether I should take arcane trickster, or whether I should take spellwarp sniper.
Either way, I could use help with some spell selection, feats, and equiptment (equiptment will be customized at our discretion, 49k gold, no more than 1/4 total gold per item).

I've never played arcane or spellwarp, I'm pretty new to 3.0+ D&D as it is but this sounds like a fun build. Help me break it :-D

Practised Spellcaster raises your caster level, not your level, ie, it affects variables such as range and duration, but not what level spell you can cast.

As for the build, might want to consider squeezing in 2 levels of Unseen Seer in there, for access to grave strike or that ranger spell (forgot the name, someone enlighten me)
