I'm about to start an Eberron Campaign, and am thinking of playing a changeling mage, with an obsession with shapechanging, and mutability in general. I've already got...16 paragraphs of alternate identities planned out, taking the substitution levels from RoE, and probably ending up going into Master Transmog etc.
However, (s)he will probably be making a lot of items as well; transforming raw elements into useful whaddayacallems, so the artificer class looks useful as well
BUT there's no way for artificers to gain shapechanging, while keeping their crafting up to scratch, right? Whereas a wizard can craft (at more penalty) while keeping full spellcasting etcetera. So a wizard probably fit's the concept better. Maybe with a bit of Effigy Master dropped in, if i can wangle some shapechanging constructability.
I know it's not that original a concept, but does anyone know if there's some way of integrating the crafting/shapechanging concepts without spending all my feats doing so?
