For the WotBS hardcover, I want to include a bonus maps of Ragos, the capital city of the largest empire in the area. We're talking Rome/Alexandria type place.
I want to populate that map with dozens of locations. Most will just be eveocatove names (for GMS to expand on); some will have a paragraph or so of description. Those locations the PCs need to interact with are already fully detailed.
So help me with some locations! feel free to wheel out your thesaurus ("menagierie" instead of "zoo") and invent names, etc.
For reference: the city name is Ragos, the country is Ragesia, the recently dead ruler is Emperor Coaltongue, and the current ruler is Supreme Inquisitor Leska. The city is on the edge of lake.
Simply stuff is OK - it doesn't have to jump out and scream in your face (e.g. see "Wiseman Brewery", below). It needs to add character to the city and something for the GM to spin off.
So far, I have:
1) Monument Island; already used as a loaction in the saga
2) Imperial Palace; already used as a loaction in the saga
3) Wiseman Brewery - makers of Old Fashioned ale; already used as a loaction in the saga
I want to add, at the very least:
4) A university
5) A library ("Imperial Library"?)
6) An ampitheatre (like the Colisseum)
7) Something along the lines of Circvs Maximvs
8) A lighthouse (I'm thinking a masive, world famous lighthouse [see Alexandirai], perched on a cliff, below which are catacombs said to be haunted)
So, EN World, lend me your imagination! Remember, these are not fuly developed locations, simply evocative names, possible brief descriptions with hooks. It'll be down to the GM to expand on any he finds interesting.
