D&D 5E Help with new character

I would like some help creating my new character.

Rolled stats in front of the DM are 17, 16, 16, 15, 13, 10.

Any non flying race is allowed. We are starting at level 3.

Leaning towards a Noble background.

I am leaning towards some sort of back line caster (necromancer) as I have never played one.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Three high stats would make a good barbarian, paladin, monk or a melee focused cleric, bard or warlock.

Noble tends to go with paladin.

Noble half elf paladin

Str 18
Dex 10
Con 16
Int 9
Wis 14
Cha 18

What help do you want? The stats are great so you can be whatever you want. Do you want to fight, use spells, be social, what? What role do you want to play in your party?

Without such information, there really isn't much help as your question is too broad IMO.
