D&D 5E Help with Player-requested Beholder PC

I have a player that wanted to play a beholder in an upcoming adventure.
I said I'd try to make that happen.
I attempted to base the EYESTALK mechanic on the chassis of the Dragonborn breath weapon.
Please let me know what you think.

I think it's a nice design.

I would have been more blunt, and just used the MM stats for a beholder as-is (and later, eventually, start adding class levels). It has CR 13 however, so this would make it suitable only for a very high-level adventure.

He has no self respect; he wants to be an interprestive dancer.
So backpack is not a problem.

BTW: Here's a go at the Interpretative Dancer (bard movement college)...

A wild bard college appears!

But yeah, I'd allow that beholder. It's well done! If I were to change anything, I might address how the runt beholders fit in an adventuring party. How does the beholder sell the loot from his adventures? Does he sleep at the inn? Are there illusionary spells employed?

I'm not DMing this adventure, just volunteered to help make someone's dream of a dancing beholder PC come true.
I think the campaign is going to be a Tomb of Horrors type grinder but in the desert under a pyramid - first time DM with a 4" stack of notes.
Now another player asked me to make a camel-folk race for him.
