Help with tattoo in Elvish

Already, there has been some disagreement as to what the translations are. I would HIGHLY suggest, before getting a tatoo, you make absolutely sure you get this right. You don't want to accidentally have the tatoo say Strength*Faith*Lizard, or some such thing. Check out the Ardalambion (Of the Tongues of Arda) for a treatise on how the languages work, and get yourself a copy of Lost Tales and Other Writings (which contains the Etymologies; the roots of the Elvish languages).

Tats can have a wierd affect, just like dog-bites :). My first tat was a rune on my left hip, right under the belt. Figured 'Ma' would never see it there. The rune was from an early girl-friend, so my excuse for it post-breakup was that it was a protective rune (half-serious).

Now, that affected my psychology somewhat. I've been in many fights since then [as a professional side pursuit], and have always taken falls to my right, instead of my left. Guess which hip needs surgery now. :\ Yep, the one still nekkid of a tat.

Your tattoo should be whatever makes you happy. Just know, you're going to have to explain it to a lot of folks in time. My hip-tat is in a place that shouldn't get exposed very often, but I am still a little weary of explaining after these many years.

Luckily a long term chemical imbalance is not the primary contributor. It has just been an extremely devestating year for her emotionally. She was seeing a therapist at one point but was unhappy with the individual in question and stopped going. I've been pushing for her to get back into counseling (and myself as well if need be) but so far she has been resistant. Luckily she is finally finding other outlets for her frustrations & things have been on an upturn lately.

Ugh, you both have my sympathies and I hope things are getting better. However, I would suggest she keep looking for a professional person to talk to. It's really hard to find someone that you feel comfortable with and sometimes you have to keep looking. Actually, since she's feeling better, now might be a good time to look. God forbid (knock on wood)things got worse again for her and she had to try out new shrinks on top of that. It might be a good idea to get the number of someone she likes and feels comfortable with now and keep it for a rainy day.
