a slotless(magical tattoo) that grants the elven reverie(four hours 'meditation' counting as sleep) but does not grant immunity to sleep or a saving bonus vs enchantments.

could probally go with ring of sustance but I still want character to need to eat and drink, but for the flavor of this character also want it to appear to be pseudo/semi-innate

so what would be the price? it's much worse then the ring(no need to eat/drink plus 2 hour vs 4 hour) but it's slotless.

any ideas?

2000 gp sounds fine. It has little game effect other than increasing people on night shifts and being cool. Unless night attacks are everything to you, it does not matter.

out of curiousty can you give the reason for 1000 as the base? break it down a bit?

Sure. I basically broke down the ring of sustenance into rough components.

Ring of Sustenance (2,500)
sleep reduction (1,000)
no food or water (750x2 for being a secondary power)

Even though your ring only cuts sleep in half instead of by a quarter, I really don't think it should cost less than 1,000gp (or 2,000gp if slotless).

It's hard to figure out. Check out Murlynd’s Spoon. If takes care of the food and water bit, just like the ring of sustenance, but it does it for four people. Take 5,500 and divide it by four (rough number) and you get 1,375. So, for 1,375gp, you can get easy sustenance. It's still not automatic though. Anyways, I just figured the sustenance part was the more expensive one.
