Help with tomorrow adventure

Hi everyone could just use a little help with my adventure outline.

What I have: Ok in the northern unexlopered land, due to a freak shift of the planes/experiments a few groups of soliders from a mid-level tech world no magic have arrived in the Pc's world. They wish to attemp to steal some of the worldly magics, report to their homeland, and possible try to overtake the world.

The Pcs:
Level 2 FTR Dwarf Mithral Chain, LSword,LSSheild, "The tank"
Level 2 Wiz Elf Colt Python(.357 Magnum found in a clash between their world and the 'outsiders') "The Summoner/Shooter"
Level 2 Cleric Human of Wee Jas, L Mace, B Plate,LSSheild, "The big guy w/lots of hp/healer"

For this adventure the PC's told me they plan to raid a camp of the techies, and explore the area.

The Bad guys:
Handful or so of Warriors trained to use guns
Mounted Cannons, Mounted Machine Guns (Perhaps)
Traps

The bad guys managed to get some supplies through before the gate closed. (the gate will open periodiclly for x amount of years with a x intervel of time)

So, how should I plan the adventure, what should I map of it and how should the game run? Thanks, you are all the best.

It sounds like you already have it planned out. It would be hard for others to tell you what to map out but you need to have a rough idea of what is in the locations the PCs will be exploring. You need of course to know the number and stats and equipment the enemy posseses and you should plan on their attack/defense strategies.

Make sure the enemies do not greatly outnumber the party at any one time or otherwise your 2nd level party will be toast very quickly (especially with guns blazing at them). You might also consider how the enemy will react to any magic.

Well, I would suggest making a few maps. Make one detailed one for yourself- and figure out a few ways to get to/into the base:

1) The main entry
2) A steap cliff in the back of the base
3) through the sewers/well/river
4) dropping from the sky
5) etc

Now, figure out a very basic map of the area if the players just come upon the place.

Then have a map if they do a detailed scout.

As for other ideas- are there locals in the area who dislike the techies and may help the pc's? Perhaps the locals are villianous, and willing to use the pc's? Maybe a local tribe was enslaved to build the camp- and they know of the water entry?
