Don't listen to these guys. They're going to get you killed...
The bit about becoming a vampire isn't going to work so well
if you want to remain a druid. (If only because you won't be
able to hold your own holy symbol).

Well, certainly if your DM wants to be an idiot about it, there's really little you can do. There's probably no Wish on Earth you can utter that can't be twisted so as to make it useless. That's funny the first couple times it happens, or if it's a greedy, foolish Wish ('I wish I had all the gold in the world!' WHHUMMPP!).

Hmm. I don't think druids have holy symbols (divine foci), do they? Do any of their spells require it?

hmm... I might know a guy who could help with this. He succesfully turned himself into a pit-fiend with this, so e could probablyt pull this off. I'll ask him next time I see him.

I'd say that's too powerful for a wish. However, now that I think about it, isn't there a ritual in Relics & Rituals 1 that grants this? I can't check my books because I'm at work - anyone else have it handy?

This is one of the best things about reincarnation!

First, although True Reincarnation is not (I think) in the regular books, I believe it's in a splatbook somewhere. It's like regular reincarnation, except that you don't lose a level when it's cast.

What about changing your wish like this: I wish, when I am next the target of a reincarnation or true reincarnation spell, to be able to choose the form into which I return.

If he made this wish after every time he's reincarnated, then your ultimate biologist could explore many different life-forms from the inside out.

Were I your DM, I would balance this by saying that you could only ever be reincarnated into a specific form once.

But since on being reincarnated you gain a new body, you render yourself thereby immune to aging penalties.

I would also allow this, no questions asked. PCs never (in the scope of the game) die from old age, so it's pretty much just changing the characters IC background.

Alternately, if the Wish is incapable of that degree of power, it may reveal the path to immortality in a flash of insight. Maybe it's a magic item the Druid needs to find, an item he needs to craft, or a ritual/spell to give him some sort of apotheosis. Maybe he can research a spell that would transform him into some type of Dryad where his lifespan is tied directly to an oak. There are 1,001 mythological ways that people became immortal, and being undead is the minority. I say the rest are fair game.

BLAM. Stasis.

I'm starting to feel like the Emeril of wishes. It's time to
kick this wish up a notch! BLAM!

How bout:

"I wish DMs would remember that it's neither clever nor funny nor particularly mature to attempt to screw with a player each and every time he, through hard work or DM fiat, gains access to a wish."

Ha ha! I remember that, but I'm gonna do it anyway! And now you're a stinky rotten fish! Blam!

You're saying I'm immature? I know YOU are, but what am I?

It may not be funny to the players, but as a DM, I must say,
I find INFINTE amusement in it. I really do recommend it, if you
have the opportunity...

Anyways, I don't screw with ALL wishes that a player might make. Just the ones that are outrageous, overly-powerful, or game breaking. Immortality I usually file under outrageous.

I suggest you begin your wish, and just before you finish it- put your scimitar in your eye and beat your DM to the punch. Then turn to him and go "Ho Ho Ho- not so fun when *I* do it is it?!?"
