Hemispherical Wall Of Force Legal?

I suppose it could be problematic past level 10, but you can't fit a whole lot of people in that space. You haveta to get right up in the face of the BBEG, with the whole party, which is quite frankly kinda difficult. Not to mention, if the BBEG is a caster of any skill, the good ole Dimension Door/Teleport works perfectly, then the party is trapped inside the hemishphere by themselves.

Basically, there are lots of Ifs, Ands, or Buts, so assume that the spell has a known tactic of that sort, and that a truly genious spellcaster would have some sort of escape plan for forcecages and hemishpherical walls of force. Basically, if a spell CAN be used that way, assume that SOMEONE thought of it before the characters did in that world.

Of course, then there are truly creative uses of spells, for example, I once summoned a hound-archon for the mere purpose of it's range and the "aid" spell because my heavily armored cleric was too slow to get to a fallen friend, even after the big enemy was taken down.

Also, if players can do it, so can NPC's!

But that still leaves the possibility of running up to the BBEG and casting it to trap him in the hemisphere with you. And if the party does this as a group, the BBEG will find himself cut off from his allies and trapped inside a hemisphere with an entire party of adventurers.

Not to mention it would still have the ability to completely remove yourself and your party from any combat that's going badly, heal up, and then finish your opponents.

Interestingly enough both of these uses are still entirely possible with Wall of Force just as a wall. A hemisphere with a radius of 1ft/lvl will give you a decent space but at those levels 10th-20th lvls that's hardly a problem for enemy casters, monsters and other uglies shouldn't have a problem with this, at least nothing they wouldn't have trouble with if it was just a wall anyway.
