Heroclix?

i love the fact that both marvel heroclix and dc heroclicks are going to be released, i can have my own secret wars! what if superman had been there during the infinity gauntlet? will daredevil kick batman's but? my roomate just got thanos! wow i say! tougher then a sentinal i tell you.

also i have a unique vision but you can't have it ACMITE. ha

if you like(d) comics the game is a nice way to waste some time and spend money. my kingpin now has 15 hooligans at his disposal if needed. that's the only problem, buying boosters irritates me but you can get individuals fairly cheap online.

If you do decide to get involved, let me give you a general tip. This applies to all the "clix" games, although the degree varies based on the game.

Many players will complain about how much it costs to play. It is set up as a collectible game and a majority of the figures do come in the random boosters and starters. However, there is an excellent secondary market. As long as you know what you want to play, you can just pick and choose what you'd like. eBay is your best option for Uniques (well, after trading with people you know) and is ok for non-uni. The best place I've seen for the non-uniques is http://www.pjcc.com . I've gotten excellent service there, and many Mage Knight players swear by it.

Also, there are a few "prestige" figures that are available separately. For Heroclix there is only the Sentinal right now (rumors of a giant Sinestro in the future have been floating around). Mage Knight has many options in this area (Dragons, Chariots, Tanks, Castle pieces and certain "hero packs).

So, assuming that you've played the game with other players figures and know what you'd like, you can almost completely avoid the "collectible" aspect of the game if it bothers you. Buy a Starter set for the Rules, Special Powers Card & map and pick and chose what you like.
