The announcer in the recap mentioned that Nathan (the politician) escaped the clutches of Evil, referring to Claire's dad.

Edit:

Going back to that theory in last weeks thread about Claire story being set at a different time. It the middle of the night in Vegas and daytime in Texas. Even with the difference in time zones , I don't think it would be that much.

I saw that, but I don't think that's an important enough time shift. They were inter-cutting between the two scenes to draw them out, that's all. Most likely, the two events occurred within 12 hours of each other.

Question: did DL kill Niki?

I just got done watching it, and this one was a good one, like the rest.

But one thing hit me all of a sudden. The scar on Nikki's back that appears with the other personality (the one with super strength) is the same as the necklace of the dude with Horn-rims. That dude can affect minds. What if they have already gotten to Nikki, giving her a personality that they can use.
But what if the docile Nikki is the altered persality, and aggressive Nikki is the original?
Docile Nikki doesn't know how to use her powers, doesn't have any revealing marks, and wouldn't go and interfer with Horn-rim's plans. But (I'm going to call mind-bender Necklace) what if Necklace wasn't developed with his powers, and orginial Nikki gets out every now and then? Able to use her super strength, she is the protecter, like a real mom. Also, she stated "I'm doing what I've always done (doing what is best for the kid)", implying that she has been doing something like this for a while.

Just my two cents.

No, I think he just went in and stopped up her air way, not her heart. Thus she'll pass out, but not die, as long as he stopped in time, which is most likely because he was only in her for a min at most.

Josh, the symbol on the tattoo - and the necklace, and Isaac's paintings back in episode 1 and 2 - is the pattern that the data makes when Mohinder scans his father;s flash drive. I think it's the genetic symbol of the evolved human.

I also think that super Nikki is the original. But I hadn't thaought that Claire's dad had gotten to her with (necklace).

Line of the night - "That's so cool!" You have to love it when the shadowy guy dorks out like that.

Other than that, I think this episode was kind of predictable. I figured Evil-Niki took the money and framed DL as soon as I heard about it. Seeing two of the heroes have a bit of a showdown was pretty cool though. I'm guessing Niki's power is super-strength. Also... does Micah know about the money and the split-personality? Hmm...

Bitter, jaded Isaac is awesome!

I figured Eden was a plant as well... she was just too convenient. Claire's dad seemed to imply that she had a power... I don't know though. I think that while they may be shadowy, I don't particularly think the group is evil. I think they're more of a dark-research group, trying to figure out what's going on with the heroes, control it somewhat.

No Nathan! Boo.

Ando's speech at the end was great. It pretty much, in my opinion, sums up everything that the heroes have to go through. Heroes almost always have a set-back, something that they have to overcome. Isaac has his heroin, Niki has Evil-Niki, Claire and Nathan have their public images, DL is a criminal.

Very neat. And DL isn't a criminal. He was framed by Dark Nikki. My question is this. Based on the stuff being said at the end while we were looking at Nikki passed out, could she be getting merged into one Nikki with a fusion of the two personalities? This could be due to DL's phasing touch messing her up. A wild theory I know, but go back and listen to what was being said as they showed Nikki lying there. Stuff about difficult or seperate equations simplifing into one thing... etc. I gotta go to NBC.com to rewatch the end when this ep is up there.

Got another interesting theory (but who doesn't, right?). What if all (or many) of the Hero's have already been taken by Claire's dad and memory wiped. Who knows how many times some of these people have been taken, studied, wiped and released. Claire's dad said about Matt that he had progressed further than they expected. This implies a couple things: they already knew about him and they already had enough data on him to extrapolate a rising power curve (which he outdid). Also, it was evident that Claire's dad (does he have a name yet? As long as it's not Linderman!) already knew about Nikki ("Just take the one.") but didn't need her right then. He's obviously just learning about Peter and Issacc and the 'time traveler', but how many of the others does he already have his hooks into? All the West Coasties it seems (LA cop and Las Vegas Nikki at least). Wonder if Mind eraser could affect a phasing DL??? Hmmm...

The mental eraser guy could even explain the mark showing up everywhere. We know that mystery mind wiping guy has a necklace with that symbol on it. Maybe when he wipes people's memories, that is the last thing they see and it sticks with them. Some anonymous symbol stuck in your head without explanation. So you draw it on your schoolbooks, or get it made into a tattoo, or who knows what. Maybe it's even planted there on purpose because he can't just leave a void, he has to leave something when he takes something, so he plants that symbol there.

As usual, can't wait for next week. Excelsior!!

Micah clearly knows something is up - he told DL that "she has a secret too".

While Evil Niki might be a construct of mental manipulation, the split personality can also just be what multiple-personality usually is - a reaction to trauma, the mind's way of protecting itself.
