Heroes - 10-30-06 - Better Halves

No deep analysis here - but wow, how cool was this? I think the episodes are definately getting stronger as they've moved past the whole 'who are these guys' and gotten into the plot.

DL was very cool.

Very neat. And DL isn't a criminal. He was framed by Dark Nikki. <snip>

Yes, DL is a criminal. He's not a murderer, but he is a career criminal and he planned the 2 million dollar robbery. Nikki set him up for murder by killing his "crew".

So who thinks Nikki actually IS dead and DL is the real hero who gets to go on in the series?

There was a shot in the previews for next week of Micah eyes just widening, and something the voiceover said at the same time just made me think that he has a power as well.

They are stronger but I am getting anoyed at everyone still having seperate storylines and not bringing people together. I know they advertized it somewhat in next weeks previews but they have done that before and it is just tangential connections. I really do like the show but it is 6 episodes in and they are still just doing seperate character development. I really don't need another Lost that is all about character development and having only unanswered plot points.

Eh. We did see some connections between them, and they are drawing together. Besdies, we wrapped up some plot points in this episode:
* The folks that Hiro and friend cheated are finished.
* We know what happened with DL, both what everyone else thinks happened and what really happened

And I couldn't say that there's any new mysteries added this episode. I never got into Lost, so I don't know how that works, but things are actually happening and some questions do get answered.

Yeah, I also wish the heroes will start meeting and staying together sometime soon. I was happy last week when Nathan and Hiro met... only to see them go their own way within 15 minutes. Maybe there'll finally be some long-term associations when Claire is rescued finally rescued (and I hope that happens soon). I find it annoying that the bad guys all seem to be connected to each other whereas the good guys are seemingly alone and isolated.

Got another interesting theory (but who doesn't, right?). What if all (or many) of the Hero's have already been taken by Claire's dad and memory wiped. Who knows how many times some of these people have been taken, studied, wiped and released.

Well, unless he was faking when talking to Eden, her call did seem to be the first time he heard of Hiro, so I think it's a safe bet that Hiro, at least, hasn't been brainwashed.

Okay, my DVR stopped just as Mousy Brunette Plant Girl shows up at Isaac's. What happened after that?

Josh, the symbol on the tattoo - and the necklace, and Isaac's paintings back in episode 1 and 2 - is the pattern that the data makes when Mohinder scans his father;s flash drive. I think it's the genetic symbol of the evolved human.
Take the symbol, reverse it so the curves go the other way, then squish it with the first one: it becomes a double helix, a DNA symbol. By itself, it's just an RNA fragment, which can't be the total "super-hero" gene; that'd be like writing a novel using only the last half of the alphabet.

It might represent a prion, or retrovirus though. Hmmm...

Person I think Memorywipe Guy is just a tool used by Claire's dad when the situation calls for it; I don't beleive he's as crucial an element to the conspiracy as everyone implies.

Line of the night - "That's so cool!" You have to love it when the shadowy guy dorks out like that.
I wonder about his reaction to the message from the future: "Save the cheerleader." I have a feeling that's it's not him she's in danger from, but Silar. I think he'll be genuinely concerned for her safety (though possibly mostly due to her importance to his plans.)

Also, him looking at the second pair of horn-rimmed glasses with the crack in them: clues to his ability? Multiple-man type power?

I thought they were Mohinder's from when daddy dearest was in Mohinder's father's apartment. Mohinder took the glasses off to take some pictures, then he ran without picking them up again when he realized someone else was in the apartment. Pretty sure the glasses were Mohinder's, or possibly his fathers, but Secret Agent Dad definitely picked them up at Mohinder's dad's apartment in India.

I was wondering whose glasses those were. I was trying to think of a time when he may have broken a pair another pair of glasses
