Heroes - 10-30-06 - Better Halves

Yeah, I also wish the heroes will start meeting and staying together sometime soon. I was happy last week when Nathan and Hiro met... only to see them go their own way within 15 minutes. Maybe there'll finally be some long-term associations when Claire is rescued finally rescued (and I hope that happens soon). I find it annoying that the bad guys all seem to be connected to each other whereas the good guys are seemingly alone and isolated.

Well it does seem like Hiro is heading to New York to meet Peter and Issac. Will they make the connection there with Nathan as well? Peter seems to think that from there they will work together to find the cheerleader.

Also no one has ever said all the character we are meeting will actually be heroes. Some could turn out to be villians. I mean Nikki's super human side does not seem to be to nice. She may end up being one of the bad guys.

Okay, my DVR stopped just as Mousy Brunette Plant Girl shows up at Isaac's. What happened after that?

Mine too, darn it. I'm gonna have to set it to go a minute or two after the nominal show ends to cover...

Take the symbol, reverse it so the curves go the other way, then squish it with the first one: it becomes a double helix, a DNA symbol. By itself, it's just an RNA fragment, which can't be the total "super-hero" gene; that'd be like writing a novel using only the last half of the alphabet.

It is an RNA fragment... or an "unzipped" portion of DNA, which you get during replication. It may be a general genetics refererence, or a reference to specific engineering?

Just about nothing - MBR showed up, told Isaac she was a fan, asked if she could come in.

Then they cut to Niki laying on the floor, while Mohinder did his voiceover - I thought it was about the same as the one at the start of the episode.

So who thinks Nikki actually IS dead and DL is the real hero who gets to go on in the series?
I wish this were the case (since I dislike the Nikki character and her whole storyline), but I think it's unlikely.

Other than 'too much Nikki' this episode, there were some nice plot points and nifty bits of dialogue. "That's cool!" and "I had a a sword?" being two notables.

I like Niki - she's interesting because she's torn between herself, although it's more interesting now that we've seen more of Niki and ikiN interacting with each other.

I do agree, the fact that (finally!) the two Nikis interacted made their scenes/storyline much more tolerable.

("ikiN" - nice!)

I have enjoyed Niki's story line just because I want to figure out what her deal is and if she is a hero or a villian. Plus she is easy on the eyes. But yes seeing that interaction between both Niki and ikiN (2nd this for official name) was a nice touch. Plus this time Niki let ikiN take over.

Based on the stuff being said at the end while we were looking at Nikki passed out, could she be getting merged into one Nikki with a fusion of the two personalities? This could be due to DL's phasing touch messing her up. A wild theory I know, but go back and listen to what was being said as they showed Nikki lying there. Stuff about difficult or seperate equations simplifing into one thing... etc. I gotta go to NBC.com to rewatch the end when this ep is up there.
Mohinder's voiceover says:

"Evolution is an imperfect and often violent process. Morality loses its meaning, the question of good and evil reduced to one simple choice: survive or perish?"

I guess no one mentioned the fakeness of Claire's bioparents because it was so obvious.

I suspected they were fake only really when Mom said they'd tried to find them before and had had trouble - Dad should have let mom know he was hiring (if he did). Thing is, given that they're supposed to be a pair of high school sweethearts who broke up when Claire was born, they seemed to present themselves with the right level of awkwardness.

I think they work for Claire's dad. They may aquantences but don't know each other very well. I was distracted during most of the exchange between them and her father in the driveway and was only picking up a few words hera and there.
