HEROES Changes in Season 2

Yeah. Somehow I don't see this happening. It could work for two seasons, but I wouldn't wanna try to catch a third season with new heroes. Furthermore, I think some of the powers would definitely start to repeat as well...
So, why would it only work on 24 but not on HEROES?

I would be surprised if they chunked the entire cast and totally changed the setting, unless of course they do blow up New York. Actually, the show already skips allover the places in terms of setting with Odessa, New York, L.A. and Vegas being regular locations.

Where was I…

I think 1d4 characters will return next year, appearing about as often as they do now. Based on the usefulness of the characters and the popularity of the actors, I would say characters who will be returning include Claire, Hiro, Peter and Sylar.

Lastly, to reiterate, 24 does not get rid of the entire cast, they keep portions of it from year to year, replacing everyone (except Jack) only over the long haul.

This may be a bit too simplistic, but I'm somewhat worried that the manner of how the storyline evolves in season two will be too similar to season one, if they start over with a new cast.

If it's just another rendition of discovering one's own powers -> realize there's a threat -> meet other heroes -> work together to stop the threat, then that'll quickly become too fomulaic. That's part of the reason to keep the same cast in a show, otherwise you tend to retread the same ground, plot-wise.

Of course, I'm confident Tim Kring won't let things become that stale, but it is rather irking/worrying that we'll be back to square one in terms of getting to know the characters, at any rate. I'd rather they kept at least a few of the main ones, and let most of the rest of the cast change around them (similar to how it works on each season of Boston Legal and, if what I hear is correct, since I don't watch it, 24).

I look forward to the season one cameos in season two, in any regard. I bet Peter will survive, and become the big gun that they pull out only on rare occasions.

If Peter has a scar in the future - then that is because there has been some disruption to his powers.

I don't think they will let him become Uber_Mutant without significant drawbacks.

Crap. I like most of the current cast. And IMHO Heroes is more character-driven than 24, so I don't think replacing most of the cast would work out well - it would feel like starting all over. Nor would I want to always see new characters discovering their powers. It's fun the first season, but they've already gone through the emotions and character progression that could be associated with that. Do we want another Hiro who enthusiastically embraces his power? Another Nathan who tries to hide his? Another Matt whose professional life gets screwed up because of his? Another Isaac who can only initially access his power when under the influence of something? I don't.

Well there are some common characters for 24. In particular Mr Jack Bauer, and his fine-looking daughter... ;)
IIRC, his daughter haven't been on last season's storyline where former President Palmer was assassinated.

As I said before, I'm sure they're going to keep a few as mainstay, to bring or segue the new storyline and new cast in.

Everytime I heard news of a new X-Men movie, I've always wondered what new heroes they're going to introduce, and were hoping for some of the familiar ones from the comic books.

HEROES is going to be just like ER or Buffy/Angel, where they keep the audience on their toes as to whether who's going out or dies.

Yeah I agree here. Maybe a completely new cast from day one of season two is out of order, but if they do it gradually like ER or Law and Order, they might pull it off.

I mean, come on, name one character from the original cast of Law and Order that's still there -- and I don't count Chris Noth coming back on that crapfest Criminal Intent, because I, well, don't count Criminal Intent as worthy of much of anything. God I hate that show.
