I just received the "This Week at Paizo" newsletter, and it claims that Heroes of battle will ship - tomorrow! I am not interested in the book in the least bit, but I figured those who are might appreciate the info.

Dungeons & Dragons Heroes of Battle Hardcover

It smells like... victory!

Have you balked at trying to integrate the Greyhawk Wars into your campaign? Does the thought of having your characters act as generals in a war against the orcish hordes leave you with hives? Do you daydream about recreating the Battle of Helm's Deep, only to wake to the reality that it would be almost impossible with the current D&D rules? Well, fret no longer. The newest D&D rulebook, Heroes of Battle will help you integrate war and the battlefield into your D&D game.

Heroes of Battle provides everything one needs to know to play a battle-oriented D&D campaign. You can build military characters with new feats, spells, uses for traditional spells, and prestige classes. Information is given on tools specific to the battlefield, including siege engines, weapons, magic items, steeds, and other exotic mounts. Battlefield terrain aspects are discussed with plenty of illustrative maps and new rules. Specific types of battlefield encounters are discussed in detail, and the book provides specific detail on designing battlefields.

So stock up on your orcs and unleash the dogs of war!

This item will be available on May 5th. Get your preorder in today and have your book shipped on Thursday!

I thought this was marked as a June release? Weird.
The product schedule this year is all messed up. Champions of Ruin is also coming out in May (next week), and Waterdeep: City of Splendors is coming out next month instead of July/August when it was supposed to. I fear for what these changes may have done to the already poor WotC editing quality.

It's already ordered, and my FRGS told me they'd ship on 05-23. I'm definitely looking forward to this, especially now that I've cancelled my Champions of Ruin order.

I saw that my local gaming store has copies waiting, but it's not going up until friday, so no chances of looking at it yet...

Uhmm. What's "your local gaming store?". If it's my FLGS too - I'd like to know who has it as I want this book asap :)

Somehow this one slipped under my radar. But with Champions of Ruin falling off my soon to buy list, this one looks like I may have some use for it. Looking forward to seeing what people think of it as they get their hands on it.

I trust not Paizo's e-mail announcements. They said the same for Sandstorm, and it came out the week after.

But, I'll call my FLGS tomorrow anyway, just to be sure.

Brad

Does anyone have any info on this book? I've read the description on the WotC site here but not a lot has been said otherwise. Does anyone have a scoop? This sounds like something I might want to buy, but more info would be appreciated!
