Heroic/action "token" what should I provide?

I'm going to be running a campaign (drow wars), where once a day, each player can "call upon the stars/fate" and use a special heroic ability.

This is tied to their "patron star" which has certain aspects (like "the defender" or "the bloodthirsty" and so on).

I want to give them something physical that they can hold onto/hand in when they use it.

My question is: what should that be?

Oops....I wanted to add..

I'd like it to be different for each player...either completely different, or slightly different. I'd also like it to be small enough to easily hold in one hand (e.g. the size of a mini or a pencil or somesuch). That and I want it to last the entire campaign, so no feathers or live plants, for example.

Some ideas I've had so far:

different stones (hematite, a quartz crystal, etc)

an iron key (the old timey ones)

a shark's tooth

a small fossil

a chess piece

a large coin (50 cent piece)

An Ankh for the cleric, or some other holy symbol.

A book for the mage, preferably leather bound.

A weapon for the fighter.

Each can be a token thing, a little leather bound notebook, costume jewelery, a fancy letter opener sword.

Given that this item needs to be kept for the entire campaign, and given that characters are kept on Character Sheets, I would suggest a cool page clip for each player. You can find "bookmarks" that clip onto a page, or you could get a cool charm and secure it onto a large paper clip. This would be easy to keep track of, and easy to store, unlike a miniature or stone, as it would basically lie flat.

Another option would be a cool die for each player (as most players I know of bring their own dice to every game). You might get a set of metal ones, from Dwarven Forge, or maybe you could find ones that had no numbers, but other symbols instead (like the old Dragon Dice game). That way, each player could store their token with their dice, but would not actually USE that die during the game.

Poker chips could work. They're easy to find, colorful, and compact.

Bookmarks is an excellent idea, and there are some nifty metal ones that simply slide onto the pages to be marked, like:
