Hey Publishers - Here's the Monster Collection I Really Want To Buy From You!

I would really love a big fat hardcover collection of real world animals and vermin. Jam packed. Existing OGC ones collected together and new ones added. Think PBS/Discovery Channel/National Geographic. Think a trip to the Bronx Zoo or the Boston Aquarium (or the San Diego Zoo or the Monterey Bay Aquarium if you're on the West Coast, and I hear Seattle has a nice aquarium too ;) ).

Maybe even publish an encyclopedia-style series - a volume of birds, a volume of reptiles, a volume of mammals, etc.

Somebody *please* make this book.

I would buy this in a split second, so long as the OGC ones are used (so not to have multiple copies of too many creatures). It would be a druid's dream book, too.

Well, seeing as how I just wrote up 20 stat blocks for animals, I can tell you that I am now completely insane :P

I do know that Dark Quest Games plans on releasing a PDF of animal stats for familiars. It may be of interest to you guys :)

Print books, man, PRINT books. :D

I have no problem forking out the dough for the print version.

PDFs just don't do it for me, especially for something that gets a lot of use.

Of course, as long as publishers are willing to allow POD copies, I guess it's okay.

I worked on Troll Lord's Book of Familiars. This was last summer, but as I recall, there is an appendix with a bunch of animals included. So, if this book ever comes out (wink to the trolls), you might want to give it a check.

Dark Quest's present product and all future products will be POD... we'll be seeing about adjusting previous products for that method as well.

I'm a recent convert to PDF products, and if an enterprising PDF publisher wanted to take this project on, I'd certainly buy it!
