Part of the campaign I'm working on involves a run in with a village witchdoctor. The player's will have just come from a tiring trek through the jungle and a serious sub plot. Now I'm looking to lighten the mood and think i have a great way to do so.
Typically, they would need to pass a skill challenge to speak with the witchdoctor to progress. But i would like to replace that with a means of tricking the players into saying those famous words "Hey, Witchdoctor, give us the magic words." Now, I can explain why they need "the magic words" (They need the words to open a passage.) I can set them up to say the words (a bone covered in "spirit writing" they need to translate.) the problem is I can't figure out an explanation as to why they need to say these exact words without it feeling forced.
As things stand I'll accept anything close but i would love to hit them with this bit of humor and would like advice to improve the odds of getting them to say it.
