Hiding a Divine Focus?

Does a favored soul need a divine focus?

If so, is there a way to cast without it, or to cast with a different dieties focus instead?

I'm running an eberron game, and I want the priest to be able to cast spells on behalf of the Devourer, without it LOOKING like she is

I would say, if a favored soul is casting a spell with the divine focus component, the focus has to be brandished about, just like a cleric would have to do.

Divine Focus (DF)
A divine focus component is an item of spiritual significance. The divine focus for a cleric or a paladin is a holy symbol appropriate to the character’s faith.

Holy Symbol, Silver or Wooden

A holy symbol focuses positive energy. A cleric or paladin uses it as the focus for his spells and as a tool for turning undead. Each religion has its own holy symbol.

Unholy Symbols
An unholy symbol is like a holy symbol except that it focuses negative energy and is used by evil clerics (or by neutral clerics who want to cast evil spells or command undead).

You sound SOL unless the Devourer likes holly and mistletoe, but Eberron tends to be more lenient on such matters.

I could see trickster type deity give a wink and a nod to a double sided holy symbol. One side, Its holy symbol, the other side a parody of a rival faith's holy symbol, only detectable with a DC 15 search check [know; religion giving synergy bonus to this check].

"Odd, you did not think a sun god would have vampire fangs..."
