High Level Ranger vs Fighter Powers

Don't forget that abilities that give extra attacks are more likely to allow you to use Hunter's Quarry since only one of the attacks has to hit to activate it. Plus if any of the attacks crit then you can add the Quarry to that one and max it out (based on the wording of Hunter's Quarry that you decide after the attack roll which attack you wish to add it to). That coupled with the bonuses Larrin mentioned, tend to make multiple attacks a more compelling choice for Rangers than single big attacks.

Larrin, good comparisons. Although they seem to break about even. Which is my point, shouldn't the striker class clearly do more damage than the defender with their powers? Pesonally I think that doing 50% on a miss is better than reliable, so they do more damage there, but it's not a clear cut benefit as I would have liked to have seen I guess. I could just be nit-picky though, but I wanted to see my high level ranger clearly stand out from the fighters as he does lack all those nifty "sticky" abilities the defenders have. But it seems if I want to do real damage, I will have to forgo a couple of feats and MC into Fighter. This seems odd after taking a class that is supposed to dish out damage, that to do the most damage they need to MC into a class that is not supposed to be the big damage dealer.

As others have noted, I think most of the extra damage of strikers comes from things like hunter's quary. The powers aren't all that different in damage level...
