Visted the link from the EN World Sci-Fi news page, that mentioned that Adrian Paul will be in Highlander 5. Here's the full news from Moviehole.Net. (I cut out some of the author's musings about his own life. Note both the bolded paragraph and the section I highlighted in Darkorange Italics.

Adrian Paul to star in Highlander 5
Posted on Tue, 28-Jun-2005

<snip>

Looks like Duncan-buffs are in for a bit of a treat. Adrian Paul - who was never officially going to do anymore in the immortal "Highlander" franchise - has signed on to reprise his role as Duncan McCloud in the fifth - that's a whole hand of Christopher Lambert - "Highlander" film.

"First of all, I love your site. Thanks for doing what you do. My name is John Bierly; I'm the editor of Adrian Paul's online fan publication at www.adrianpaul.net. Adrian informed me by e-mail yesterday that Highlander 5 will be filming later this year in Eastern Europe, with a script by David Abramowitz, who was the head writer on the TV Series. Adrian will star in the film, and he will also be an Executive Producer. More info as I get it, but this is official and straight from Adrian Paul himself."

So there you have it. A rare theatrical outing - I'm guessing? - for Adrian Paul. No word on what "Highlander 5" is about, but the latest is it's not 'The Source' yarn that was supposed to form the template. That was recently tossed out in favour or something else.

All I can say is thank God they dumped the whole "The Source" storyline. I wasn't to keen on that idea. Now the question become will we see Jim Byrnes (Dawson) and Peter Wingfield (Methos) in this movie, as well. Perhaps flashbacks including Roger Daltrey (Fitzcairn) too. Hopefully,
Connor will stay dead
, as Lambert is too old to realisitically portray the original Highlander.

Cheers!

Subject: Adrian to star in HL5...

Hi all

Davis-Panzer and Adrian Paul have given us the go-ahead to announce that Adrian will be bringing Duncan MacLeod back to the big screen in the upcoming new Highlander movie. It is due to start shooting in the Fall of this year.

"...The idea is to revamp the franchise with new music, a new look, all the while keeping the integrity that Highlander has established...." (Adrian Paul).

Adrian will also be one of the Executive Producers, giving him a far greater degree of control over the finished product - "...nothing will go by unless I want it to...." (AP).

John Bierly will be getting further information up on Adrian's Official web site as soon as possible and has no doubt already locked down an interview for the next PEACE newsletter

The latest on Highlander 5

According to the Highlander-Community, the immortal ones are shining their swords for a fifth adventure. A Fall 2005 start on the next sequel is being mooted.

According to Carmel MacPhearson, head of the HLWW Club, the fifth "Highlander" adventure is currently being re-written by David Abramowitz, and it's on target to go before a Nikon before the end of the year.

It's rumoured that the previously planned "Highlander : The Source" isn't happening now, and David's working up an all new story. It was apparently announced at Cannes that the troupe behind the series plan on making an all-new "Highlander" film trilogy.

The new script is said to include the characters of Duncan MacLeod, Methos, and Joe Dawson played by Adrian Paul, Peter Wingfield, and Jim Byrnes, respectively.

I think if one series needed a reboot, this is it.

IMHO, they have to include the original movie and the TV show, but then try to ignore all the other movies.

That said, while I liked the TV show, I thought Adrian Paul basically hated the whole Highlander thing, and only does it because he needed money. Which probably won't result in a good end product.
