Hit Location charts?

First Post
I'm looking for extant OGL Hit Location rules. Preferrably with an online version, as my cash flow's a bit tight for new gaming materials at the moment.

What I need is a chart (or charts) that allows a character to roll a die and determine where their hit lands. I don't need rules for handling the effects of a hit to certain locations, though I'd certainly look at such if someone recommends them.

Anyone have a suggestion?

You're just looking for this for flavor then? OK:

Code:
d8 Location
 1 Head/Neck
 2 Back
 3 Chest
 4 Left Arm
 5 Right Arm
 6 Left Leg
 7 Right Leg
 8 Groin

Actually, I do have a mechanicall need for it. But I already have rules for it.

I can throw a five-minute chart together myself; I was hoping someone had one that they put a few hours thought into, or somene had an opinion on the charts in a published product.

Here is the hit location chart I have used for years:

1d20 Roll Location
1-2 Head
3 Right Hand
4 Left Hand
5-6 Right Arm
7-8 Left Arm
9-14 Chest
15-16 Right Leg
17-18 Left Leg
19 Right Foot
20 Left Foot

This is the old RQ chart, and the variant we used very successfully for 10 years

Code:
19-20 head
16-18 right arm
13-15 left arm
12 chest
9-11 abdomen
5-8 right leg
1-4 left leg

19-20 head
17-18 right arm
15-16 left arm
12-14 chest
9-11 abdomen
5-8 right leg
1-4 left leg

RQ has similar hit locations for all kind of wild and wooly creatures (from horses to dragons, scorpionmen to walktapi). A brilliant source for this kind of thing.

Cheers

If you're looking for a real headache, try Aftermath (or was it the Morrow Project?). d1000 for location, fingertips and stuff like that!

Go with Runequest.

If I needed hit locations, I'd use the simple ones from the Swedish RPG Mutant: Undergångens Arvtagare. IIRC:
Code:
d6 Location
1 Left leg
2 Right leg
3 Torso
4 Left arm
5 Right arm
6 Head
I might have gotten the order wrong, but the gist is right.

If you want rules that are already around, there may or may not be some in Torn Asunder, Bastion Press' book about crits.
