hitpoints conversion in M&M? Use of Aberrant in an Fantasy game?

First Post
I keep reading on the web that the rules for converting from damage saves to hitpoints are included in the main rule book for M&M, but for the life of me I cannot find them and it isn't listed in the index. I have access to both 1st and 2ed ed M&M.

Can someone either tell me the rule, or give me a page number?

On a related note, I recently aquired a copy of aberrant D20. I'm thinking of allowing my DnD 3.5 players to become "inspired" though exposer to Z-rays as the payoff to an "Expedition to the Barrier Peaks" type adventure. Any thoughts on this? I can imagin the player of the elf mage having an heart attack after getting the +2 int for the psychic template....

thanks...now to find another book...

On another tangent...any one ever use silver age sentinals? There isn't a review here and I came across references to it while looking for the M&M conversion rules.

In 1e, the rule is in the main book somewhere, but I don't have it handy. Try the index? I'm pretty sure it was around the section on damage saves and recovery in the combat chapter.

In 2e, there are supposed to be hit point rules in the Mastermind's Manual, which I don't own yet, but I imagine they're similar to the 1e rules.

SAS is a tristat game using a similar system to Big Eyes, Small Mouth. Characters have three attributes (body, mind, and soul), from which other things are derived. Human average is 4, SAS average is about 8 or 10, then in SAS you try to roll-under the appropriate trait on 2d10 to accomplish something. Tristat Dx (the generic version of the rules, based mostly on SAS) can be downloaded for free from drivethrurpg.

There was also a d20 version of SAS, which I've not seen, but the d20 version of BESM was a point-buy, almost classless, effects-based system. There's a SRD of the d20 BESM rules available for free, too. But if you've got MnM, you don't really need d20 SAS. You might like tristat SAS, though, so look at the dX pdf.

I dont remember the conversion rate for HP to Toughness. but damage conversion went

1d4 damage roll (03 hp) -> +1 Damage
1d6 damage roll (04 hp) -> +2 Damage
1d8 damage roll (05 hp) -> +3 Damage
2d6 damage roll (07 hp) -> +4 Damage
3d6 damage roll (11 hp) -> +5 Damage
4d4 damage roll (14 hp) -> +6 Damage
etc.

Should be easy to convert from that that.
